Very handy - we've used our one a lot.

At 4 months dd would roll the lenght of the room to get to something that she wanted. So I never thought they would be useful. If you have one of those nice, helpful, kids who sit where you put them (and I never managed to get one of those!) they might be useful

Thanks essbee - they seem to be in 3 sizes - infant, junior & family - do you think the infant one would be too small?

i did a wee bit of research on these. the infant one actual turns out to be the standard size made by other companies...

cheaper ones don't have that fancy silver lining inside which prevents them from becoming a 'hothouse'.

Yes, extremely.

I got one with silver lining from Ebay for about £15. It was a complete godsend the year dd was tiny. We could still spend the day on the beach, didn't need to lug a buggy down there, she was protected from the sun, and happily slept on a rug in there, and I could sit in it and feed her.

We got a cheap one £7 and it's great. Good for changing in and feeding in. I sit in it loads as I can't cope with the sun very well. Also useful as a play tent in the garden.
