Pimp My Tent...

so I've been researching mumsnetting tents and discovered a whole new world under canvas: I've got to up my game if I'm going to be a tenting goddess!

What do you pimp your tent with? Is it all Lakeland crockery and bunting, or the latest gadget (you girls have introduced my dh to the wonders of a Cobb today )

Will I be shunned at the campsite if I don't have a 'footprint' thing? Or renounced as a country bumpkin after years wild camping with the very basics?!!

Enlighten me! (I looked on UKCS after seeing it mentioned here and got scared by their chatrooms - this really is a cult I am joining (willingly))

First buy one of these

Fling these and a few of these artfully across the floor.

Then, get all this stuff.

Stock up heavily on this

And ta da, pimped to the max.

My PIL were staying at a campsite where a rowdy overcrowded non laura ashley type group set these off into the dark. They lanterns went out over the sea and burned up, someone spotted them and called the coastguard as they thought it was a distress flare.

The lifeboat and helicopter was dispatched etc etc etc and many thousands of pounds and hours later the search was called off.

I've often wondered if something like that could happen. Scrap that idea then!

Loving the whole soulpad look - though it may be a step too far for dh at the moment (he wants to still feel manly and mountaineering for a little longer, although I am winning through)

bumsrush - doh! I love those lanterns, will have to save them for campsites away from the sea

Where can I get good solar fairy lights from? (for the baby to enjoy, obviously, nothing to do with pimping the tent up)

I love them too after seeing them soaring over Glastonbury, I have an occasion next year that I would love to set them off at , we are not too near the sea, or the airport.

they were identified as a couple of UFO sightings too. My sis is getting married next year - I might treat her to some instead
