Hi,

Just booked my tickets and just wondered if anyone could let me know their thoughts/experiences of last year.

Thanks,

Yes, great fun, but we didn't camp as local. DD love it, DS was 4 weeks so didn't have an opinion but was much admired.

was fab for the kids
And fantastically friendly and lots to do.

Bands were ok, a couple of good bands, but I personally wasn't that excited about the music.

The actually festival experince was fantastic tho
we are doing womad this yr- but had considered going back to camp bestival.

Thanks Five and oops.

This is first festival with DC's in tow. Activities for them look really good. We considered Womad but missed out on Camp Bestival last year so decided to try this year.
Were the facilites good? How about food? Did you eat from the stalls or did you manage to get food to cook yourselves?

Thanks for the bump Giddy - really looking forward to going.

we did a bit of both- cooked beans and noodleas and stuff on camping stove- and then got stuff from stalls.
we took food with us too- it's nice to go back to tent and chill for a bit and have a bit of food and a cuppa -)

CB was particulary good it hink- there was dressing up stuff and a kids' disco and lots and lots of crafty stuff to do and you could catcha tinty tiny glimpse of the sea.

It took foreevr to get onto the site though. Hours and hours.

I hope they've fixed that... i'd get there early tbh.

each yr at bestival there is a theme apparently so people dress up there, and last yr at cb there were people dressed up in that theme too- so it's worth finding out if that's the case this yr if you like dressing up!

there were alot of adults and no kids, but no troubel and stress at all. I've got soem photos i'll put up on profile at some point.

I'd have done CB again but Dh is more muso than me- and womad really is the best for the sort of music we like.
Tho' i must admit Imagined Village at bestival last yr was my musical highlight of the yr!

making me smile just rmembering the weekend, thanks for bringing the thread up
We have swine flu here and one of our chickens died overnight and the kids are stir crazy even at this early hour!

Thanks for all the extra info oops

Thinking we might head down on Thursday night and stay at a B&B so that we can pitch as early as possible. Gates open at 8am!

Better search the CB website re dressing up as I'm sure the DC's will want in on that!!

Glad reminiscing has helped a little. Enjoy Womad and let us know what you think as may head there next year if all goes well at CB.

Take care,

KC xx

Dress theme is animal magic.

They are bringing in people through 2 different ways this year.

When coming down, avoid Wool like the plague as will be awful.
