And I'm so excited I think I may burst. I have never been so excited about anything before. I have a big, silly grin on my face 24/7.

Its a 1986 T25 High Top, 1.9ltr Turbo Diesel. A very nice man has owned her for the last 11 years and taken very good care of her.

There are 4 beds inside, fridge, sink, double hob and grill.

I went shopping yesterday and got loads of bits like plates, cups, cutlery, pans. There's loads of storage/cupboards.

Not picking her up till next week as I'm waiting for the cheque to clear. Will be going away in her next weekend. She's blue and DD has christened her Bluebell.

How exciting I have often thought I would like one, did you get to test drive her?

Report
StripeyKnickersSpottySocks · 12/06/2009 12:16

Yep, I drove her. Found it ver difficult to change gear as unable to tell if she's in 1st, 3rd, reverse or neutral until I set off. Which could cause problems at traffic lights, etc. I'm hoping I get the hang of it soon.

One of my friends has just bought one and they've been having great fun going off at the weekends. DS is very envious, he's had a thing for ages about wanting to have the biggest car in the school and this thing really is huge.

We have a blue T4 called Spike. Dh built him.

I don't blame you for being excited. Having a camper has been everything I always thought it would be and more.

He's packed atm to go to the New Forest tonight.

She's lovely, we love her so much!! Today, she has just had some new curtains finished being made and seat covers (almost finished). She is a westfalia and very nice, thankyou! I'm just off to look at Bluebell. I hope you love it!

Ooh, that is nice. I've got an '84 Devon bought a year ago but not slept in it yet with one thing and another. (Having babies and not the right seatbelts!)

Where are you going to christen her?

Oh I am so

It looks fab! Where will you go first? I SO want one when DS is a bit bigger, how old do you think DC need to be to find travelling/camping in one okay?

I'm going to Bus Stopover campervan festival thingy near Leicester next weekend. Then the following weekend we're going to Blissfields music festival in her.

I've got a week's camping at River Dart booked for August but think we will stick with original plan and take the car and tent. The windy backroads of Devon many challange my driving. Plus teh fuel consumption all the way there would be bad.

Apart from that I'm planning a couple of weekends away as and when. Would like to go to Derbyshire for a few days and also Norfolk. I'd really like to do a tour of the Welsh coast, sort of start off on the Llyn Peninsular, head down to Cardigan Bay and then across to Brecon. They're parts of Wales I don't know very well. Guess I'll need at least a week for that.

lol. It is such good fun, really worth it! Ds went camping in her when he was about 16 months! Hope you win

Oh Maxy and Stripey they are lovely. Wouldn't it just be great to set off and drive, stop where you feel like - oh the freedom.

Maybe its something we might consider when the children are older - the amount we have spent on tents recently I can imagine DH's face if I suggest I would like one of these .

I just love the thought of not having the hassle of packing the car up with loads of stuff as well. I'm planning on keeping everything apart from clothes in there. So on a Friday all we need to do is chuck a few clothes in a bag and go.
