Really want to do something fun and different that all the family will enjoy. Kids are 8 months, 2 1/2, 8 and 11. What do you think?

It's a lovely idea but surely they are all booked up by now

unless you have your own

you know, my first instinct is but...I was at a festival a few weeks ago with yurts, and actually they didn't look that cool.

In particular, there were woodburning stoves inside them which, tbh, would just have been a pita with a baby (if your 8 mo is crawling or cruising or anything).

I think had it been dp and me it could have been brilliant. Have seen yurts with perspex (assume) openings at the top so you can lie in bed and see the stars-very nice. But for kids-I think actually wouldn't have been worth the extra ££ at all, especially somewhere as packed with other stuff to do as bestival-would you really be in the yurt that much?

I can see why you were tempted, but we have gone for practicality in the end and booked a caravan (not v. glam but with TOILETS - DS2 just dry at night) for the Larmer Tree Festival this year.

Same price as a yurt but more facilities - we will be able to make a cup of tea.
