had a good time

feel like we will find it hard to beat next time though!! We went as we knew it was going to be dry!!

It was also warm! and we had lovely people next to us (their child made more noise than ours....so pleased!!) ended up swapping e mail ads as my DD was upset that she would not see them again lol

thanks so much for all the ideas on here, we pretty much had all we needed (and no midgie bites!!!!)

So pleased for you annie

You will find longer hols more relaxing though. I always find it's a lot to pack up and organise just for 2 nights.

Although you soon like you had the perfect camping neighbours, as long as you choose your sites carefully, you usually find that we are all a sociable bunch.

As for the weather - it sounded great but even rainy camping does it for me!

they were lovely people by us, but a few more less likeable ones down the bottom of the fields

at 10.30 they came wandering around, a big group, kids and adults, I have never heard noise like it. My kids sleep through anything, but they even woke one up! we were not too pleased! politely told them to ssssh!!!

was a nice site, had highland cows and calves right behind the tent !!

I don't get the tv thing either Annie... I was surprised to see satellite dishes on caravans and even a portable one outside a tent .

I'm glad that you had a great time and are looking forward to your next trip. I think that MM made a good point - previously we have only had short breaks but last week we camped for a week and the time flew by.

too be fair, if I had a mobile caravan we would take a tele!

and if we stayed for a week at a time, in a tent, we would really struggle (one DD has special needs, sometimes its the only way to have 5 mins peace!)

But surely if you have a large group sitting outside their tents, you chat, laugh etc! not be glued to tv!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ah i dont get te telly in tent thing- at all! dh wants ehu for a fridge, i said yes only if he prmised no tv.

with ref to late noises- check the quiet time on sites before you go, some are 11 some 10, but technically you shouldnt really mind up until then iyswim- although we had someone this year playing loud radio 24/7 which was really

on the website it said 10.30

But when we got there it said 11.30

I dont mind some noise, wasnt expecting quietness

But also dont expect a big group to come right up the field our tent screaming

our tent and the 2 next to us (all with kids) were all in darkness, so they knew we were asleep (well, the kids!!)
