Mmm yes we are taking the plunge. South east looks best in the UK so have booked a site near Legoland. Sincew then the forecast has changed and now more rain forecast! But still looks not too bad so fingers crossed...

It will be fine (if you pardon the pun!) It has to be. I am trapped in my house with the out in -laws for the WHOLE weekend..........

Spoke too soon.

Poor DH has just spent three hours (yes, 3 hours) trying to put the tent up on his own in the wind and rain. He said it kept billowing up like a balloon in the wind.

He and DS went there today, I'm meeting them tomorrow evening.

I feel sorry for DH and even sorrier for DS. DH can get irritated putting up a deck chair. The air must have been blue.

Poor DS.

There's something more exciting about tents. I love the way you go outside first thing in the morning to boil the kettle, lovely fresh air feeling that I never get when I stay in a caravan. Caravans are just a bit too indoors for me.

having said that, if the weather's like this next year, we'll seriously look at getting a van. Rain is limiting how much we can really stay in a tent.

We did used to do tents before the children tho!! It did freak me out a bit when the dog decided to get up with the sun (4am) so we pegged her outside and woke up to six children playing with her!! ( at 7 in the morning)
Have not tented since but probably just a wuss....
