We have just reurned from a Haven campsite in the Lake district and I would just like to warn everyone as to how bad it was.
The place was overcrowded ,filthy and a health risk .
PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE do not go there if you can help it . We were on the touring site where the bins were overflowing, wtih rats spotted round them. Toilets were broken , overflowing and filthy and showers which were beyond redemption.
One lady collected over 70 names on a petition about the situation , another was threatened with being thrown off and I got no feedback at all when I complained.
The main entertainment area was no better with blocked and oveflowing toilets there too.

Had our first and last experience of a Haven site this year. Not an experience we are in a hurry to repeat. We weren't touring but were in one of their static caravans. It was shabby, dirty, overcrowded etc etc etc just as you say. yuk!

Oh blimey, I considered Haven this year but we went to Kelling Heath in Norfolk instead which was fantastic. Sounds like we had a narrow escape. Poor you.

Put it this way the health and safety officer and environmental haelth dept are very interested.
They had numerous calls last week and are to act straight away .
If I had my way it would be closed until there were major improvements.
I was told that they have been warned about overbooking , therefore breaking their licence to operate rules.
The touring warden stood in front of me and said how would you feel if you had to clean up used sanitary protection, I nearly punched him. What a bloody cheek accusing someone like that.
I know if certain people make a mess its not nice ,but I always thought cleaing staff were there to do just that. I mean that in no bad way to cleaners by the way,
I am just so

Oh poor you. We went to Craig Tara in Ayrshire in June and, while the site was nice enough, the caravan was filthy and smelled of a thousand cigarettes. Yuck.

I don't feel sorry for myself I just cannot believe I live in a country where companies can get away with this.
I have stayed in many different countries , sometimes in very very basic accomadation and have never encountered such total disregard for simple health and hygiene procedures.

We went to one in devon last year. I had a 6 month old baby and was very proetctive as i thought their static caravan was relly smelly and dirty. Have to admit though, the children loved it!!!!
