I don't know where you live but theres Vanfest in September.

There are loads of stalls selling every VW part you can imagine.

Its also a great day out if you like looking at other peoples vans -we saw some amazing ones there. I was very envy.

We went last year to get some parts for our Beetle as its just down the road for us.

We've also bought some stuff on-line but can't remember the sites -I'll ask DP and get back to you

Hi
we have a 1969 bay.
we are in north notts, so not far from you. I know a couple of places in nottingham, bughaus which is in colwick in notts and someone recommended somewhere else to us just last night, but I will have to wait til DH comes home as I can't remember the name...they specialise in beetles and campers. For engine type parts we use GSF which is in Sneinton in nottingham, they specialise in german, swedish and French car parts and we have bought things like clutch cables and bits for the exhaust from there. For things that have to be of the right era, i.e. lights etc we use http://www.justkampers.com/ (would do link, but am technophobe!)

Hope this helps smile

oh and by the way in a couple of weeks time we are going to http://www.runtothehills.org.uk/

It is being held near matlock, might be worth a visit to see if there's anyone there who can help you.

Hi

If you find it difficult to get to shows and don't know of anywhere local, you can source most of the things you need online and mail order.

These are the ones I could think of off the top of my head. The first four are ones we have used ourselves at different times, the last one is a list of suppliers from the website of the club we were in before we moved south.

www.justkampers.co.uk/

www.vwheritage.com/

www.bluebird-type2.co.uk/

www.ahschofield.co.uk/main.asp

www.newlancsvwclub.co.uk/Links/Links.htm

It would be worth your while finding out who your local vwclub are as they will have all the information you need as well as useful advice and the best contacts for mechanics etc.

Good luck. smile

Is anyone else going to Vanfest?

We have a 1973 Bay Poptop Westie, looking for inspiration on re-organising the interior plus we're new to the veedub world so we just want to hang out and gawp at more experienced veedub-ers grin

Sorry, can't help with finding parts etc but lots of people speak highly of JustKampers.

I thought Kid rock was famous for being married to pamela anderson once....apparatantly he is actually a musician...of sorts..
