Camping with a 2 year old, sleeping bag recommendations

We are camping at the end of August with DS who will be 2.5 yrs old. I have one of those inflatable ready beds, but it struck me that this might be too cold.

What do other people do for bedding and can you recommend anything. Preferably something that can be used for a couple of years.

Thanks

A friend of mine goes camping with her DD(2) and she uses an adult sleeping bag and ties the bottom of it so she cant wriggle down and it's always been fine for her.

Are the ready beds any good I wanted to buy one of the junior ones for my DS 2YO but wasnt sure.

take blankets or a quilt to put it on top of the ready bed.

We haven't used the ready bed yet as when we have been away they have had bed sides and at my parents he is still in their cot bedd.

Thing is because it is inflatable, I think it might be too cold at night time in the tent.

Dd has been in an adult sleeping bag since she was 2. I just tied around the bag with string below her feet to make it half the size.

Why don't you add a fleece balnket underneath the ready bed and as alayer between the bed and sleeping bag.

Although ds is 4 we have a fleece picnic blanket in his bedroom section then he has a campbed with selfinflating mattress on top with sleeping bag and fleece balnkets if too cold. Never has been though

If you ever buy a child a sleeping bag, can I just give you my top tip?

Buy the old square topped shape and NOT the mummy shape. Both my kids have got into a right mess with the mummy shaped ones, so we changed them to square tops and have found them much better.

we got ds a junior a sleeping bag when he was 3 and this year we will get dd1 the same as she will be 2.8yrs when we go camping. DD2 is in a baby vango which goes up to age 2 I think and she will be 19mths
