£30 reduced bargain from Go Outdoors!
Next question is...what plug in 'essentials' do you recommend? We were thinking maybe of a little heater / plug in coolbox?..

Aldi's bave the bargain coolboxes 29.99 - for 12v and 240 -

Last year we used it for:
Fan heater
Radio for the weather/surf report
Phone charger

This year we're thinking of getting:
Toaster (have one of those daft contraptions you put on the stove)

And I will deffo use it to recharge my ipod.

We took our George Foreman grill thingy and it was great.

microwave shock

Surfermum Mon 07-Jul-08 22:31:47

I know, I know grin.

I used to say hook up is for wimps .... until I got it myself last year.

I just thought a microwave might make give us a greater variation of meals for our fortnight's holiday.

A hook up was my first ebay purchase some years ago.

Day 2 of our camping trip and it didn't work. DP set to with a screwdriver and mangled it to pieces, then other campers started shouting "it's back" and we realised there had been a power cut.

and therein lies the lesson of today - don't get your ehu off ebay! grin

milkybarsrus Tue 08-Jul-08 21:21:22

is it me? but i cannot see the ehu for £30 on their site? it probably is me! blush

TwoToTango Tue 08-Jul-08 22:05:59

Whizzz Thu 10-Jul-08 14:58:48

Sorry - it was a special promotion on for a few days. I think it ran out on Sunday which was when we got it

Hair straighteners of course, loved all the sarky comments I get when I am standing at the back of the campervan doing my hair, but they do all look a bit jealous grin.

Electric kettle..then you don't have to decide you want a cup of tea 20 mins in advance and then lose the will to live waiting for the kettle to boil on the camping stove!

LOL cadelaide grin though I bet it wasn't funny at the time!

I've never used hook up but bought one 3 years ago and found it this morning when I was tidying the garage. DH (always the pessamist) says "bet that doesn't work after being in here for all this time"
Does anyone know how or where we could test it before we go away next week?
