Montana 6

Hi,

We are about to buy a tent and take our two children (5 and 2) camping for the first time.

We have looked around and have sort of decided on the Montana 6. My husband also liked the Wolf Lake but I thought this seemed like a lot of money to commit to an activity we're not sure of.

Has anyone got any experience of either tent? How easy is the Montana 6 to put up?

Thanks for your help

Debsx

We have the Montana (otherwise known as a Monty) 6.
Wolf Lake is Polycotton - Very good quality but pricey and heavy!
Montan we find easy to put up.
It is really roomy - one large living are and two spacious sleeping areas. You also get front and side entrances and a little porch are which is very handy.
The only problem with ours is you have to step over the groundsheet to get in - dd is always tripping over it but they may have improved this now by adding in little zips so you can lie the groundsheet flat around the entrances.
Does that make sense?
Certain other Monty owners will be along soon!

we have a montana 6 and put it up yesterday for the 1st time, only took about 35 mins with the "help" of a toddler.

Have also got the kid's room and dd1 can't wait to sleep in it, we decided to buy 2 double inflatable beds as we'll probably end up swapping beds during the night.

space is great in the inside and we have the carpet as dd2 is only 9 months, helps to make it nice and cozy.

ooh i love love love my Monty. He's brilliant. It's very easy to put up. About 40 min job...masses of space...lots of useful pockets.
I even have the footprint carpet now

We've just bought a Monty 6 off eBay and I can't wait to go camping! DH and I put it up in the back garden and it took about 45 mins.

Really spacious inside. Just got the carpet and footprint groundsheet. Booked two campsites for beginning of August.

We looked at the Monty 6 and the Bear Lake 6 on Bank Holiday Monday in May in the pee'ing rain, so we know that they are both waterproof!
Couldn't really justify the cost of the Bear Lake (although I really liked it!). We thought that if we really took to camping, we could always trade up in a couple of years. The Monty 6 was soooo roomy, and we liked the fact that there was plenty of room to live in it instead of just using it to sleep in. Managed to find our bargain on eBay.
