camping with children

My DH and I are considering going camping this year with DS aged 3 and DS aged 1. How do you cope as far as sleeping arrangements? Our tent is the type with separate bedrooms off the main part of the tent.

I am thinking of putting ds aged 1 in his travel cot and ds aged 3 on a camp bed. Dh and I are thinking of one of us going into a bedroom with ds 1 and the other of us going into a bedroom with ds 2, as I do not like the idea of them going together without us in the other bedroom. The bedrooms are too small for us to all fit in one together. How do you do your sleeping arrangements?

We have never been camping with the kids before and are just going somewhere local for the weekend for a test run before going for a proper hol.

I would do what you say which ensures they are not on their own. We have a camper van and bundle in together.
