as i reckon if we are going to go camping, that is how we'll be toasty warm! (dh, me and ds aged 4).

does it exist?

and if anyone wants to recommend the perfect tent whilst you're at it that would be great!

You'd probably be toastier in one each as less warm air will escape.....but if you insist you could zip a single to a double to make a triple, they would have to be ones that open flat though and someone may end up lying on the zip..

...really, go for one each, sounds lovely - all snuggling up, I suspect the reality would be a nightmare!

DON'T DO IT

Get DS his own - kids squirm all night long. They fling covers off, they snuffle, moan and WAKE UP as dawn breaks.

Give DS his own bed and place something interesting by it each night to keep him amused, a toy, pencils and paper etc and a drink in a 'sucky' bottle.

Trust me, you don't need to keep warm. If you are worried about DS getting cold, buy him one of those fleece all in ones that he can sleep in. That's what we did and they were toasty in the morning too,

I bought dh & myself extra large sleeping bags as I sometimes get claustrophobic in a small space. They are mahoosive and total overkill and can be zipped together to make a sleeping bag that's alot bigger than the tent we were sleeping in last summer (2 man pop-up tent). In thunderstorms when they were smaller the 2 dcs have piled in with us quite easily.
