We're off on holiday onn Friday and haven't put it up yet, I reckon it's probably bigger than our garden and haven't anywhere else to try it. The main problem is that I'm the practical one in this relationship, and we have two dd's 18 and 5 months, so putting it up isn;t going to be much fun. Please someone tell me it'e easy, and I'll be able to do it with the help of OH, for the puropses of this let's assume that OH is a unilimbed dyspraxic who only speaks or understands dutch. hOW LONG DO YOU THINK IT (oops sorry) will take? I don't care how long it takes, just that it's possible!

IF you are going to a camp site, there will no doubt be some blokes there who will help. I wouldnt worry too much, fellow campers are a good sort - always happy to join in and help! IMO anyway. xx

You need to check out the Outwell website, I'm pretty sure that there are clear instructions on there - the basics should take less than 20 minutes - remember one word instructions to your OH - hold this, put your pin in now, that sort of thing - then get hm on the pegging out - keeps men amused for hours that will, while you get on witht he rest.

we tend to do the basic pitching first then have a packed lunch - oh and I'd recommend trying to keep the dd's in the car at first if at all possible - good luck, let's hope the weather improves for you!

Here is the Outwell website

Find your tent, click on pitching instructions and watch! - may times over - with Oh taking notes if necessary

It isn't that hard - takes around 30 minutes. We kind of lay it out flat, get the poles on but lying flat on the tent, put the pins in the poles as grumpyfrumpy says, then start at the back and lift each arch up and peg out the guys to hold it steady. Watch your hands when you are clipping the tent on to the poles - it's easy to snap your skin (like buggy strap clips ).

Oh...and getting it back in the bag is a nightmare...but worry about that when you get to it.

I hope the sun shines for you.

A handy tip I read somewhere about putting it back in the bag: take photos (with mobile or camera) at each stage as you unfold it for the first time, then you'll be able to check back how to do it. Also, leave doors and windows unzipped so the air can get out while you're rolling it.

I just got my Sun Valley 6 delivered and I'm sooo tempted to take it out of the box/bag, but I know I wouldn't be able to do much with it until DH gets back this evening, so I'm sitting on my hands.

Right thanks, I feel much more relaxed about it now. Bet OH and I are just like the relaxed peaceful couple on the Outwell website, and not atall like Den and Angie!!!
Yes, fingers crossed for sunshine. We're off on Friday to Cornwall, it's not looking good, but the muddypuddles just arrived so should be ok.
Can't wait now!!

We have the indiana 8 which you pitch similar to the montana and dh and I can do it in 30 minutes. We lay tent out, make up all poles and lay them next to where they want to be and when putting up, like others have said start from the back.
Our kids are older but friends of ours have a 1 year old and a 3 year old and they have a portable dvd player which the kiddies watch strapped into their car seats in the car, they can get the basics done before the kiddies get fed up.
Is it possible you can go to a local park or similar to just have a practice, it really helps.
