Camping in France - Complete Novice - Please Help!!

My DH has come up with the marvellous idea today of booking a weeks camping (in a mobile home) in France for the end of August. (We were planning to go to Turkey but he insists it will be too hot!) I have googled a lot today but would love some advice. We live in Great Yarmouth, so I think the best way would be to go Dover to Calais although I realise there would be a long drive once there. I have looked at Normandy and possibly Brittany at a push, but just am not sure what sites to pick as there are so many. We have two boys aged 9 and 3 who love water, so a really good swimming pool with lots of waterslides etc. would be a bonus. Would also like quite a lively park and if possible near a beach. (I dont want much do I!) I need to be convinced that this is a better idea than going to Turkey! Please someone help me make a choice!

Ooh, custardo, i'm off to les mouettes in a a few weeks, never been so i hope it is fab

via michelin route planner can take you from UK address to campsite, so you can plot the best routes. Portsmouth is not much farther than dover, and would cut out a lot of driving in france.

Do you know all the campisite companies?

Its not realy camping is it you big wooss, mobile home!! I don't know. Its not like you will have to endure the joys of shared shower blocks and putting up tents in the dark when tired and grumpy too. have fun anway.
