Camping

I'm so excited - we bought a new tent today!!

OK I am beginning to feel like a camping anorak. We have bough a new tent today for my 40th birthady present. That confirms my status as an official saddo in my dh's eyes.

We went for the Outwell Montana 6, plus canopy. Now I have to sell my old tent on ebay to mitigate some of the expense. I can't wait to go camping this summer! Yay!

We've just bought a new one too. Ordered it on Friday, can't wait to get it delivered! I've spent all weekend reading camping websites! We've gone for a Khyam Ontario 8. This is our first 'proper' tent.

What tent are you putting on ebay? We need a bigger tent than a 2 man now.

Ooh Belo- fab tent

Have you gone for the canopy? I would seriously recommend it when you can afford it, turns our tent from lovely to gorgeous!

We are putting our Coleman Trispace on ebay. 2 years old, great condition, no leaks or damage! Is anyone interested?!

I fell in love with the Monty Troutput. I think I could get into this tent-porn thing .

How many does it sleep?

Report
dramaqueen · 24/06/2007 15:59

It says it sleeps 8. There are 4 bedrooms, 2 at each end. The rooms separated by a nylon sheet which you can roll up to make 2 large bedrooms, 1 at each end. IME it will sleep 6 adults in comfort easily. We like lots of space. I'm not very good at describing things, sorry . Let me know if you want any pictures. I have prbably got some of last summer's camping somewhere.

I see they also say that 6 is probably the most it will take. We normally have 2 adults and 2 children in it, and are comfortable.

I'd need to work on DH as he is the money master in this house.
What price are you thinking of?
I've not been in keeping with camping and hiking for 6 years (used to love flicking through 'Trail' magazine)

I was hoping for about £60. That seems to be the going rate see here

Postage would be quite alot, but i am quite happy for it to be picked up. We are in Northamptonshire.

I would really like it to go on Ebay tonight, so would appreciate an early answer if possible

He says yes
Downside is we are waiting for some money to come through from a will, unless my sister will lend it to us for a bit.
Is that pay per drop thing any good? I think there are cheep courtiers out there.

Where are you? My dh travels around a bit in his job so may be going near you.

I can wait a bit for the money, since we won't get our credit card bill for the new tent for a couple of weeks.

I can get it to bristol within the the next few weeks. Would that be any good? Or possibly Southampton.

Bristol poss, I'll see if my friend is still living there

I'll be in cornwall at the beginning of the summer holidays. My sister goes to dorset sometimes. I will see if she's going soon.

Perhaps a courier from ebay maybe easier?

Please don't worry if you need to back out. I know these things can get logistically nightmare-ish . Having said that if you are really keen I am sure we can work it out!

Seeing this thread title in active convos just now made me smile - here I am shivering at home waiting for the central heating to kick in, rain and grey skies outside

I know. My dh said earlier "lets go home, close the curtains and light the fire"

Tentiebug, that sounds like a good plan. I have just spoken to my sister, but she isn't going down that way unfortunately.

Not sure if you still have the tent or if you've put it on ebay.
The mner lives in leicestershire, does your DH cover that area?

We just bought our first tent and were so excited, we pitched in the garden to check it out. It's for 8, so it's bloomin' massive and now it won't stop raining to allow me to take it down - I am going to have very dead grass!!!
