When will French campsites open summer 2019 booking?

We're thinking about going to a French campsite next year (in a static though rather than a tent). Probably Loire valley so not too much travelling.

I've been looking online trying to find an idea of prices but they don't seem to be available to book for August 2019 yet.

I've only looked on the Yelloh website so far (this site for example). Any recommendations for other good campsites or campsite chains? And when would they open booking for summer 2019? I would rather book direct with the French campsite rather than Eurocamp as they seem to charge a large premium and we won't use their kids club etc.

Thank you in advance!

We’re just travelling back from Loire Valley Camping les Alicourts. Kids 8,6 nearly 2 and absolutely loved it! Excellent pool/slides and kids club and facilities. You can book direct with the site - think it’s open for next year already.

No idea when they open bookings, but we stayed there this year with yelloh and loved it! It was our first year with them, and we are already planning next year.

Can definitely recommend that site!

Also from our experience Canvas were good on this site- much newer caravans than Eurocamp (with dishwasher!)and better outside awnings/decking and good kids club. We stayed with Al Fresco at another site and they were really good too. Less basic than Eurocamp.

Chateau Des Marais is good too. You can book direct with the campsite, they have quite a range of accommodation.

Depends on the site usually. 1st November for my favourite one and you have to book that day to get the best pitch as it’s so popular with people returning.

This is all sounding very positive! Thank you for super quick replies!

Another question- do they tend to accept bookings that aren't Saturday to Saturday (eg Thursday to Thursday?)? That could save us a small fortune on the ferry/tunnel.

We're also considering a quick stop in Paris on the way there for a bit of tourism, find a cheap hotel.

Getting quite excited now! I reckon even with the ferry cost it's cheaper than Cornwall, it seems so expensive there!

We’ve never been able to book direct with sites for the last 3 years because they are Sat-Sat whereas Canvas etc we could book 6 nights or 10 nights etc. This year we had 2 weeks between 2 different sites to break up the driving. Yes the ferry was cheaper too not at the weekend plus we got a ferry discount through the operator.

Yelloh was fine with a sat-thurs booking for us this year. People behind us stayed for 4 days.

Thank you! This sounds good.

When we've had to book Saturday to Saturday we use it as a good excuse to add on a city break beforehand Grin. A couple of nights in a cheap Ibis in Paris could work well (ok so it'll cost more than we'd save on the ferry but worth it!!).

I had a mon-mon booking this year with yelloh. Last year we had a 6 night stay. we always book directly with them but very late so can't say about dates.

We booked Parc dVdL in April I think, and there still seemed to be lots of availability.
