Lodge camping southern France

Sat in Les Valades as I type, in the Dordogne.fantastic place. Only gripe was the long travel times in car and not many 'safe' toll roads for my liking! (Wimp on the roads). Thinking ahead for next year, would like to try a lodge/cabin (like the ones in Les Valades). Think camping has been a struggle and not as relaxing as when kids were little. straight down some of the toll (A) roads preferable. Don't mind if it's 8/9 hours as will have stop over. Near a beach, lake or river, with pool. Clean, smaller rather than large bar type place. Always come on mumsnet for advice (got Les Valades from here)! So fire away with your recommendations please!!

Spooky, I’m reading this from Massereau and was going to recommend but Purplemond has beaten me to it!

AalyaSecura Its a lovely site isnt it, i hope youre having an great holiday there, its a few years since we last went as DC no longer come with us, but it was their favourite site and despite been a small site there was always plenty for them to do and lots of friends to make.

OP, I very nearly booked Camping La Cigale for this year, north of the Arcachon basin, it’s meant to be a lovely site.
