Very compact travel cot for toddler

My DS will be 15 months when we go camping this summer, he's walking and climbing now at 10 months so I dread to think what he'll be up to by then! I don't want to take our chunky metal travel cot if I can help it as it will take up so much room in the tent. Does anyone have a recommendation for camping friendly, compact travel cots that will contain an active toddler? Cheers!

I've seen these types of travel cot which looks interesting (although a bit expensive) and ideal for camping.

We had a similar problem last year, only with an 18 month old. We have a normal travel cot but it's far too bulky and heavy. After much research (and realising the cot wouldn't fit in the car) we decided to just go with a toddler air bed. They can't roll off as they have sides all the way around and they are zipped in the inner at night so can't go anywhere, we all slept in the same inner tent anyway.

To contain her during the day I would have bought one of those compact play pens they do in Argos etc if we had the space or you could use an inflatable paddling pool as a playpen if space is such an issue? We had to turn the tent into a fortress with windbreaks to stop our little girl running off. I won't lie it was a nightmare.

We also had a newborn with us too last year so this year we'll have a 12 month old and 2 1/2 year old. We are currently looking for a bigger car and my parent's are coming with us (in their own car) Grin!! I think we'll get a paddling pool to use as a playpen though.

Good luck Grin!

We had a Littlelife Arc travel cot and it was brilliant. Really lightweight, compact and easy to put up. Saw both DS through their baby years for every trip we did, including camping. Couldn't recommend it highly enough!

Thanks for the advice all! I'm going to take a good look at the Arc and see if that'll suit.
