We are moving from a trailer tent back to a tent this year
Sleeping on foam off the ground was bliss
We have aero beds which are ok as far as air beds go. DH does not believe a thin SIM can be comfortable
Opinions please on the most comfortable option. I did wonder what a sim on top of the aero bed would be like

Get a big double airbed (ie the two tier ones) take sheet duvet and pillows. Comfy camping

We have Coleman SIM's 10 cm thick, then duvet on top of that (to sleep on). Perfect in my opinion! I used to get a bad back from the airbeds.

Camp bed (plus SIM) is warmest IME. Airbeds get really cold. Also you can store clothes under camp beds (we use ikea bags) which adds even more insulation.

SIMS are great. You don't need anything else as they are comfortable as they are.
