if you are buying a motorhome from a dealer is it rude to get it independently checked?

By something like the Caravan & Motorhome "pre-purchase inspection service"

It feels rude - but possibly a good idea

Fuck rude!

Seriously though you'd be mad to spend thousands on something and not get it checked-and if the dealer thinks you're being rude maybe it's because he has something to hide.

Happy camping!

Ha! Yes-I was feeling rather bombastic this morning! But I stand by it!

Hope it all goes well smile

No problem at all - I'm just wobbling at the whole thing atm - panic galore!

It's a pretty major purchase, so you're bound to feel a bit wobbly, but don't, out of politeness, not get the check.

Is it lush? smile

It's lovely - but needs reupholstering as we are going away for 4 months so need it really nice

It's not perfect but it is pretty good

Have you found one yet? Just seen someone selling an automatic on a Motorhome Facebook group- photos look good, you'd have to join the Motorhome Madness group to view it.
" MOTORHOME FOR SALE....2007 Adria 2.5 AUTOMATIC 38,000mls Renault DCI 2/4 berth. Bought it last week with 6mth warranty but motorhoming is not for me. I will be taking a hit on the price. Genuine sale & cracker of a van. Contact me in Arbroath for further details. Serious offers over £20k."

katymac Sun 12-Mar-17 20:44:02

This one - bit terrified too

katymac Sun 12-Mar-17 20:45:19

It needs reupholstering

Is that Webbs in Newbury?
Nice van. You now have all the fun of filling the cupboards and buying too much new Camping stuff smile

And if you are doing a 4m trip would highly recommend a refillable lpg tank.

Now we will do it with mostly what we have at least kitchen wise

Except we need a dog cage for the cat or somewhere safe for him to travel

DH has a new bike & I am looking for an electric bike
