Anywhere like Duinrell? But maybe in France?

Looking for something like Duinrell but not Duinrell (just looking for a change?) Not really bothered about the amusement park, but a good swimming complex with waterslides (children are 8 and 12).

Les Peneyrals in the Dordogne is good or if you're prepared to gamble with the weather, Domaine des Ormes in Brittany

Ooh thank you. Will take a look.

Try castels campsites, 5star ones have lots of facilities...

I'm interested in this too! This year will be our third in Duinrell and as much as we love it, will want something similar but different next year.

I've researched this before and came up with domaine des ormes.

We know Castels - stayed at Chateaux Led Eaux about 7 years ago. Was fab for little ones but there wasn't much for preteens. Will have another look at the website. Will look at Domains Des Ormes though too.

Would one of the French Center Parcs suit you? They have the pools with lots of slides etc and lots of activities for children of all ages. May half term works out really cheap to book one of the French Center Parcs.

Alternatively would you fancy a Eurocamp type holiday? We book through Venue (similar to Eurocamp but often cheaper) and go to a lovely 5 star campsite in Berny Riviere which is just north of Paris. They have loads there for children including a nice little man - made beach with fresh water lake, a swimming pool, bowling, laser challenge, zip wire, climbing wall, bungee trampolines, bouncy castle, go karts, boating lake etc. My boys love it there.

When you've been to duinrell what has the weather been like?

reallyneedmoresleep · 26/03/2017 12:39

We went to Duinrell in October last year. It was beautiful! Cold but really sunny. Obviously the outdoor waterpark was closed but the kids had a blast on the indoor slides and at the theme park. We also had a wonderful time pottering about on the bikes around the local area

Beekse Bergen in the Netherlands - it has a safari park instead of the fun park and it's near to Efteling if you want a theme park as well.

If love to go depending on the weather!
