Microfibre vs hamam towels

Towels take up far too much space in our packing esp for camping. Which are a better alternative? Dp & dd1 both like massive towels so I'm thinking hamam but have never seen any in real life. If hamam towels could you recommend somewhere to buy? Thanks

I use both - both are fab. Microfibres (bargain from Decathlon) are softer but come in standard sizes. Hammams come in larger sizes and are equally as absorbing. I use the Hammond sometimes as sarongs (lazy!). I always take both away. They're small enough to take a set of each!

Hammam not Hammond!
I bought mine off eBay - loads of choice.

We use microfibre. We have got some fairly large ones from Lifeventure - their giant size is 150cm x 90cm.

I know that because DD lost hers last week at a sports club and I had to look it up to buy the right size.

I have never used Hammams - do they dry as quickly as microfibre then?

Decathlon have some massive microfibre ones at the moment, my DH uses them for the gym and says they are very good.

I only take hamnam towels on holiday. They dry really quickly and are large. I use them as beach towels and they double up as a sarong.

I did buy microfibre towels but I found them smaller and thicker. I didn't like the texture of them.

I bought mine abroad. However, they have them in tk maxx, Amazon and eBay. The quality can vary.

Microfiber. You can squeeze them out and they are sufficiently absorbant to dry again immediately. Great if you are camping in cold / wet weather.

Hamam. Really do dry quickly. We got ours from eBay but I did see some in txmaxx the other day

Hammam. Apart from my hair turban which is microfibre. I feel like I get dry better with a hammam towel

I use both! Hamman are great as beach towels or shower towels. Microfibre you need to pat rather than rub (if that makes sense?!). I got some Friendly Swede ones from Amazon. Prefer the hammam if I had to choose.

There are some nice hammam towels on Amazon atm. Brand name is Cacaia.

Thank you there's a decathlon opening near me soon so I'll look at those and if not order the hammam ones. Seems either will work ☺⛺🏊

microfibre
dry quickly and are great for the beach as sand doesn't stick to them.
we have the bath towel sized ones.

I've bought bargaintastic hamman towels from Peshtemal House on Amazon. They are fab - sadly much better than the ones I got when in Morocco which don't seem do anything!

I like the Hamamas for camping as the sand and dirt shake out better than a microfibres

I prefer hammam towels, microfibre ones feel funny. But a better fast drying super-absorbent towel option that we use is linen towels.

There was a hamam towel in primark for a fiver last time I went. I have some from cologne and cotton, they do one which is microfibre on one side so you'd get the best of both 😊

We bought very cheap microfibre ones for camping this year. They were from Go Outdoors. Dried very quickly and folded down really small.
