Much in the same way as other people look at porn, I have taken to gazing at expenaive inflatable tents.
It's time for us to get a new one - does anyone have a Karsten? They are soooooo expensive- are they worth it? Also, what configuration do I need for a family of 5? Finally, has anyone bought one and regretted it?

Karsten was my dream too but in the end I could not look my wife in the eyes and say that the tent I chose would cost 3k. We were going to start camping as a family and there was a risk of her not liking camping. It is probably difficult to find someone disappointed with karsten but ...
Karsten does not have inners - only 'curtains'. Ok in the south of France but further north I find inners warmer.
For a family of 5 you will need a sleeping extension or a link tent which will bump up a price quite a lot. There is massive thread on Karsten tents on ukcampsite forum

Also karsten is easier to pitch but not quicker especially with all extensions. If you only use the pod for a night then obviously quicker. Also not sure what your previous tent was but this being cotton will be bulky. Having said that I love cotton tents.
