Who is off camping this weekend?

We are heading off with a group of 16 friends on Sunday to the same place we have been for the last 3 years www.wellington-country-park.co.uk/camping-and-caravanning/.

Bit boring of us but the kids love it there! We will be staying for 4 nights and tend to spend all our time in the country park as their is so much to do.

Praying for good weather but not expecting much as it always bloody rains when we go camping!

Anyone else?

Me! Grin
We're off to celebrate a friend's birthday this weekend, with a camping trip. Should be good. Grin

We're not long back from a week's camping...and we're off again on 4th Aug for another week. Then we have another trip organised for end of Aug.

Summer is all about the camping for us! :D

Wow! I wish I could get away more often but DH hates camping and I can't put the tent up with just the kids sadly.

Have fun - where are you headed?

This weekend it's here.
In august we'll be doing a week here.
At the end of August we'll be going wild...we plan for that one to be a crowded piss up. Wink

We're off tomorrow - kids festival camping at www.starry-skies.net
with a bunch of friends. Very excited to test our new bell tent properly (we did a quick one-night trial last month).

Me! Doing a local 2-nighter, testing the dog out again. If he barks too much he can go to MILs and spend the weekend with her and her dog. Also testing out our new downsized kit. No more massive steel poled tent, now we have 2 smaller light weight ones and a day tent for kitchen stuff.

Me! Our second trip as a family of 5. Off to Norfolk for the weekend. Have list of Things We Need To Correct Our Rookie Mistakes following our first trip a few weekends ago but hoping to avoid the heavy rain and strong winds from last time which would help!!

We're off to Chafford Park in Kent/Surrey this weekend with friends (can't wait).

Then Thursday week, we are off to Eweleaze for four nights as we have done for the last 4 years (also not very original, but LOVE IT).

Then maybe a camp with friends last weekend in August, or maybe not, and then maybe we might head off to France for a few days' camping the first weekend in September before DD starts Reception and long weekends on the cheap are a thing of the past.

Like Pictish, summer is all about camping for us too! Grin

Trying a different site, meeting up with 2 other lots of friends.
Site allows fires (raised) and has a pool - and it looks like the weather could warrant it for once .....
I'm going Saturday and staying til Friday. My Dh & Ds are coming home Wednesday leaving me & my Dd.
Got my friend coming to stay with her Ds Thursday - can't wait.

We're testing out the tent in the garden this weekend to get the DS's used to the concept again given that the last time we went was 2 years ago when DS1 was 9 months. We're going camping proper for a week with friends the following weekend! So excited! Grin

Ah Becky how exciting! We seriously considered the Palamos 6 when we were buying our NEW TENT. Badgells is in my bookmarked sites-to-visit, will be interested to hear what you make of it.

Whreabouts in Norfolk are you heading, Rocky?

Summer's ALL about camping for us too. So far we've been to Brook Meadow (Northants), Knotlow in the Peaks, Hopley's in Worcestershire and just got back from Breck Farm in Norfolk. Having a bit of an imposed hiatus for a few weeks before a weekend at Summerfields in Cambridgeshire then probably a couple of TBCs in September.

(All of the sites I mentioned are dog-friendly, have good shower facilities and allow campfires, if anyone is interested!)

I suspect it may be my DH's idea of hell. He is hoping to get through it with some friends and some beer Grin

I will report back....

Me too (almost!)
DS and I are going to attempt wild camping on Monday so almost the weekend! Only for one night as an initial outing but exciting nevertheless :)
We are however utterly dependent on the weather as I don't fancy being stranded on the moors with only a two man tent and some Super Noodles to get us through

Report
Cooroo · 23/07/2014 07:08

Off to Beadnell Bay in Northumberland, Friday to Tuesday. Me and DP, dd and boyfriend - first time he's joined us! Joining friends and their son. All kids now older teens so imagine we will drink beer and relax a lot!
