Best tent lighting

Looking for some recommendations please. We have a Wynnster Raven 8 tent and can't seem to find lighting that works for us. We need something for the central living space that is bright enough to read by but won't disturb the neighbours, and ideally something for the bed pods (though I guess clip-on book lights would do here). Preferably mains operated but would then need a long cable to reach the socket. Any thoughts?

We don't do EHU, and tend to use a small lantern which hangs - the Decathlon ones shaped like lightbulbs, for example, and then small lights for things like reading, especially Vango Eye Lights, because the batteries last for ages and are available v cheaply if you buy on Amazon.

Lighting a big area with batteries is v expensive.

But then we tend not to sit in the tent after dark, and sit by the fire outside until be, when we use the small hanging' lightbulb' lanterns and 'tiny lights' for reading or Vango Eye Lights for getting into bed.

I read with a head-torch, or just use my kindle (paperwhite, so back-lit screen).

For general tent lighting I use a couple of these LED lights, but you'd have to be sitting quite close to be able to read with them.

We use a mechanics inspection light! Grin

It has a hook to hang it up, miles of cable and is easily bright enough to read by.

In the pod Dd3 and I read on kindles.

For non electric camps we have battery powered UFO lights with LED's, They are great and the batteries last ages.

Happy camping Smile
