What's the crack? Are they as good as they look? is there a UK brand/site that I've overlooked? Shoot!

We have a palamos 6. I love it. It is lovely to sleep in and feels really secure. Canvas tents are heavier and trickier to assemble than your standard vango thing. The palamos definitely needs 2 adults to erect it.

That Palamos is a work of beauty.
The sleeping compartments are shown as being 195cm long - is that not a bit short?

Good price!

Thanks, the Palamos 6 was one of the ones I've been looking at, it's certainly easy on the eye. Does it have a front wall for the 'porch' part?

We go camping with a transporter van so weight/size is not an issue and there's two of us to put the thing up, so definitely no problems on those scores... Did you get yours from Obelink, Cereal?

I'm curious to know it there are any alternatives to the Palamos 6 that are similar that I may have overlooked.....

The wall can be attached to the middle bit to create a porch or to the front to creat a bigger living space. I got it from oberlink. Can fault the service. It is enormous packed down. We got an extra bag for the ground sheets to make packing away easier. There are really good instructions for putting it up online somewhere.

Palamos is the cheapest for this sort of tent, believe me I researched thoroughly.

I believe you! It's good to have confirmation of what I suspected rather than someone come along and say 'oh but you have to look at such-and-such a brand, even better quality and cheaper'

There are a lot of guy ropes! But that is dh's concern.

It is the first tent where we havent spent ages trying to work out if the tension is right and worrying about inners touching the outer etc.

I've just spoken to DH - he's reminded me this was the same thought process we went down last year when we were looking at De Waards, and he spent hours researching too and concluded with the Palamos 6... It's all coming back to me now, good to know you went on through the same process and came to the same conclusion!

Yes looking cool is THE most important thing. We had actual Dutch people chatting to us about our tent last year

Right now I can only dream of such dizzying heights of campsite supremacy.
