Pregnant camping battleplan

We will be camping (in a tent) in France for 3 weeks in August- I will be 31 - 34 weeks pregnant with my third child grin
Having read previous threads about pregnant camping the consensus seems to be 'don't do it' but we are booked and we are going! Camped at 38 weeks with DS1 but I was younger and fitter and took the mattress from our bed at home!
Does anyone have any tips?
I will have 7.5cm sim with a duvet over the top to sleep on and a porta potty for nocturnal wees. Bit worried about being able to get up off the floor though
We will take the tunnel as I'll be at the ferry limit for travel and stop overnight on the journey both ways so should be max 4.5hours driving each day.......
Anyone done this? How can I make it more comfortable?

I would be tempted to buy a double height airbed for under your sim to make it easier to get up for a wee eleventy million times a night.

Also a comfy chair you can get out of easily to avoid the need to employ a hydraulic lift every time you fancy toasting another marshmallow - or is that just me?

Better make that a comfy/ sturdy chair as I imagine I will be quite a lump by then! I can't do air beds at all- make me seasick! I looked at those folding camp beds but not sure they are strong enough!

grin I think you would be ok on a decent camp bed - they are supposed to hold large men after all! Maybe avoid the ones that look like the legs are made from wire.

It's a good idea though because, honestly, I really struggled to get up from the floor by that stage of my pregnancy. But then I am very unfit at the best of times.

I camped at 34 weeks with my first and found it better than I expected. Took a double camping bed (the metal ones with fabric stung across, I had the double to myself.) so I Wasn't weebling about like a ladybird when it was time to get up for the tenth wee in the night. It's the car journey that would get me the most. Make sure you plan in Frequent stops and you'll be fine!
