I'm lusting after warmer weather and the camping season. Last year we splurged on a Soulpad, and was wondering what new stuff has come out to clog fill my canvas loveliness.

I've got a pic in my profile of everything we have thus far.

How about a tarp? We love ours and they are fab for allowing you to sit outside for longer at both ends of the day.

Just looked at your profile! I think you already have it all!

Have you got a gas fridge?

shirazplease Sun 23-Feb-14 12:49:28

We have a 3 way fridge which is excellent and even makes ice cubes, a must for camping!!

I will find out the make and let you know

What a out a pie iron? For toasties and burgers etc on your campfire?

like this

Blu Sun 23-Feb-14 16:58:48

I have been hankering after a pie iron for ages, but can't decide which sort to get, loads to choose from or indeed if one is essential. I just like the idea.
I have a Campfire Grill I have the rebel for cooking direct over the fire, but with a pie iron I could do toasties, but not for a big crowd.

Have you got a camp fire grill for cooking directly over your fire? They are excellent. Though if I didn't have one I might be dithering over a tripod instead.

Have you got outdoor solar lights? They had them in IKEA last year but sold out v quickly.

Ooh pie iron. Swoon!!!!

Ice cubes?! Picturing g&t. How civilised!

We have the Original cooking grill Blu and couldn't do without it.

Shiraz - how about a hamper to store clothes, dry food etc? Actually I got these last year and they worked as cases in the the car and then tidy clothes storage in the tent.

Shiraz, if you are an IceyTekster, invest in a roll of those polythene ice cube bags. Hardly GlampingBunting, freeze up several bags, then pack in your IceyTek as cooling ice and pop out ice cubes as required.

You need a lotus grill
My DH loves this - arrive, park and BBQ ready in 10 mins! Uses so little charcoal too.

I love my Moon chairs.

shirazplease Tue 25-Feb-14 09:51:12

oooh loving all of these suggestions! thanks! And the ice cube bags. Ingenious! You are a wise bunch!

Do you have a link for said moon chairs Milliways? I'd quite forgotten that eldest child wrecked my camping chair in france last year by using it as a trampoline angry

shirazplease Tue 25-Feb-14 09:58:01

found the moon chair. What size are they when flat?

MummyPigsFatTummy Tue 25-Feb-14 10:52:26

Have you got a Cobb? I quite fancy one of those this year although I will try to resist.

On a far less exciting note, I got one of these in the sale after Christmas: I bought it for home as we are limited in storage space due to all our camping crap but it is really too small for a home washing load, so DH suggested we take it camping for the towels and swimming stuff as it packs up really quite small.

I have Regatta Moon chairs and they are huge and heavy so DH hates them, but we haves Motorhome with room in the garage so I am allowed my comfort as the Motiorhome us his toy!

Hello MPFT airer is another good call, must admit I already own amino rotary one, which I still maintain is the best gadget I bought last year. Slots easily into car and can dry a load of washing when away on longer trips. Also, no more pongy towels

I have been lusting after a Cobb....the idea of scones does appeal.

I think I've found the chair I NEED it's called a Coleman sling I think and apparently v comfy, but no larger than a crappy regular camping chair.

shirazplease Sun 02-Mar-14 19:26:26

Amino rotary?! MINI rotary

Pootlingalong Sun 02-Mar-14 22:34:51

yes shiraz, the Coleman sling chairs are v comfy and not too chunky to pack. Friends have the moon chairs which are great but take up much more room. I've just taken delivery of my 6 in 1 table, also by Coleman. Tis indeed very adaptable. Counting down the weeks to first camping trip grin
