French campsites with large pitches?

Trying to search for French campsites with 'grands emplacements' for our summer hols for my family of 2 kids (6 and 3) is trickier than I thought....
It's not that we have a massive tent, but we love campsites with a bit of space; not when you are piled on top of each other!
Any recommendations for a campsite near a beach or lake, with pool and space AND good for kids greatly appreciated, thanks!

Have you looked at Frejus in the south of France? It's not walking distance to a beach but if you are driving its only a short distance.
I think the company that owns the site is eurocamp.

We used a site called Camping L'Allee at Arraddon, near Vannes in Brittany.
Its a family owned site. Bigger now than when we first went but lots of space and a nice pool and small playground.
By the Gulf of Morbian. Sandy beaches not far away at Carnac. Lots of lovely towns, villages, and boat trips in the area.

Yelloh Village les mouettes in Carantec, Brittany. Great pitches, near the beach in a lovely village and only 20 minutrs from the Roscoff ferry port. Most if the touring pitches have sea views too.

It now has some mobile homes on site but no eurocamp type tents. All private and mainly French .

It has an indoor pool as well as the outdoor one room which can be handy in France and the beach is great for exploring rock pools. In high season the campsite runs walks to catch lunch :)

I don't know if this'll help but we've got a series of camping books called "Cool Camping". There's one for England, Wales, Scotland and France. We've used the Scottish one a lot and all the campsites are near enough the same as the write ups (does that make sense). There's lots of great categories such as accepts dogs (a must for us), close to the beach, big pitches (good for you I'm guessing), good for children etc etc.

Les Valades ticks all those boxes. They have 3 separate areas of pitches. At the top of the site near reception, down by the lake and pool and some pitches with private facilities. IMO the lake pitches are best for privacy, space and shade. Very spacious site, children's activities, no evening entertainment.

I've bookmarked a couple of places near La Garangeoire if it's the Vendee that you are interested in. I've never been to either but I only usually bother to bookmark places if mumsnetters recommend them! I really fancied Ferme du Latois but DH decided it looked too busy for him the wuss, so we have gone for Camping Val de Vie. Both have large pitches and get good reviews on ukcampsite.

Oops, just realised that I've confused you with another thread where someone wanted to book La Garangeoire!! Oh well, my post still holds re the big pitches at these two!

la Garangeoire has large private pitches and there's a lake in the grounds. Best campsite in France (in my opinion)

L'Etang de la Breche, Nr Saumur, Loire. Several rows are absolutely massive, one for next year though as will be booked up.

Great suggestions! Thank you. Found huttopia, flower campings and indigo too, which look good.
