Unzip their tent quietly, throw a pan of water over them, run back to your tent faster than the wind, get in your sleeping bag and pretend to be asleep. When the shouting dies down, report back here.

The only passive aggressive way of dealing with this WITHOUT breaching campsite etiquette is to go to the loo without a torch and accidentally trip over their guy ropes a few times.

Personally I'd commando-crawl to head level and bellow "Stop snoring or DIE, FUCKERS!!!" at top volume.

Oh, without breaching campsite etiquette, hmm. Well, go and knock on their tent, say I'm ever so sorry but your snoring is keeping me awake. And offer them a clothes peg to put on their noses. Would that work? Or maybe some tape for their mouths.

P.s. It's why I prefer to "camp" out at home in my own bed... luckily I can go out the front door for some fresh air.

Be grateful it's only while you're camping and don't have to live with it. My DH is a very loud snorer and I am very self conscious of it when we go camping, in fact we go less often now partly because of it, having had a snotty comment from someone once, but that makes me so sad, we all love our camping.

Whoknows, do encourage your DH to talk to his GP about the v loud snoring, it can sometimes indicate underlying health issues. x

He's done all that thanks Anne - no sleep apnoea, just a bit overweight and comes from a family of very loud snorers.

Completely agree with iris earplugs are the only way. Boots do ones called muffles and they are made of wax. Swear to god you don't hear a thing!
