Downshay Farm - recommendations

Anyone been to Downshay Farm? I know they don't take bookings, but am sorely tempted even with DH and two DSs in tow. They recommend arriving on a Monday... and have been very helpful thus far, but this will be for half term. All advice gratefully received.

We LOVE Downshay farm, we've been three years running now. Facilities really clean, beautiful views of Corfe Castle and steam train. It's really chilled out, all the kids get together and play, you can just turn up and pitch where you want. The only niggle is, the on site freezers don't freeze ice blocks particularly well, they do sort of, but not like a solid freeze at home if that makes sense! Feel free to ask any questions!
Oh, and there is a van that turns up approx nine in the morning that will beep, selling papers, bread, milk, doughnuts etc.
We love it there. Have you checked out the review on Cool Camping website?

Great response, just what I wanted to hear! Will look at Cool Camping review now, they seem very relaxed about there being space for us if we show up on Monday. Have you ever been to South Penquite Farm on Bodmin Moor? The weather is a bit rough, but it's an incredible place. Don't know where you are, but it's been 8 degrees here all day and constant rain... really in the mood to camp now!?!

I've never been to South Penquite Farm.

If you do go to Downshay I hope you have a great time! We hope to go back this summer. Before you pitch your tent, have a good walk around to check out views! There is rope swing in huddle of trees looking towards washing up/shower areas for DC.
