Mine has just arrived! Next day delivery from Karma Canvas - they have been very swift and nice on the email. Although I haven't even taken it out of the delivery box yet and I'm not sure I can lift it!!

One of the Soulpad ones?

Now that I'm in full research mode, I wonder whether this wouldn't be beter?

we've got a 3 metre hybrid and waiting to test it out. Garden is a swamp.

We used to have a 4 metre but sold it.

You probably do need one. We love ours but....I'm already moving on to lust over a touareg

I went to a campsite last year where some campers had an emperor tent and a 5 metre bell tent JOINED TOGETHER. It was phenomenol.

Report
TheRealMBJ · 03/04/2013 17:51

Would you not need like 3 pitches for that size tent?

Was the kind of campsite where you aren't allocated pitches. They had several kids at least one of whom was a wheel chair user so they did need the space. I had to peek, they where happy to show me around - they had a burner too. Very comfortable!

When we are rich and have a bigger house, garden and car i'm TOTALLY getting a Bell. Just saying.

Report
TheRealMBJ · 03/04/2013 19:50

We're not rich, have a small semi and virtually no garden. We STILL need one. And a 5m Bell is cheaper than a 6 sleeper tunnel...

I don't think I can persuade DH to get an Emperor though Sad

I have a bell tent, This year will be a semi permanant structure in the garden with two wrought iron day beds in and a coffee table, some rugs, bunting and some lights, next year will hopefully be adding the stove.

Everybody needs a bell tent.

Ok, so I am utterly and totally sold on the Bell tent idea.

Is there a big difference between Belltent UK and SoulPad as suppliers. I know there are others out there but it seems to me a choice between the Belltent Ultimate 5m (am never gonna pass The Emperor as a viable option) or the SoulPad Genie 5m.

I have seen good things on here about Soulpad but someone on another thread has just bought one from Karma Canvas. You might want to have a look at them. Try ebay too. There are quite a lot on there.

The best value supplier is Obelink in the Netherlands but as they no longer ship to the UK, you would need to either take a trip over there or know someone on the European mainland who could take delivery for you. I am not sure if the saving is worth the hassle these days.

we bought the soulpad 5000 genie about 3 months ago and FINALLY pitched it yesterday, in our garden. It's even better than I had hoped.

I NEED the tea light chandelier now. NEED.

I need the tea light chandelier too. Have already "bunted" as it were. It's a whole new world for me and I am beyond excited!

Yes our original one came from Obelink. It was 4 metres, SIG and cost £206 delivered.

I then sold it for 250 a few weeks later as I felt guilty for not going camping at that point, we only had it up in the garden.

Now I do go camping with the children and miss it very much...I am trying to console myself that the 3 metre will take up less room on the campsite and be less heavy in the car.

'Bunted' I love it. The verb of bunting.

I too have bunted, 15m of the stuff, was sewing like a lunatic. The French are going to think the circus have arrived when we get to our site in the Vendee.

Shock

Mine is from karma canvas. It's got a mosquito net door which the soulpad / belltentuk / obelink ones haven't. Was v useful last year when dd was crawling

I got a double layer chandelier for Christmas. I can't WAit to use it

My mind is turning to carpeting / rugs next [ponce]

TheRealMBJ · 04/04/2013 19:54

I'm going to have to make some bunting for when we get one. I am ridiculously excited.

Looking for a good campsite in Devon near the Dart if anyone has any good recommendations. (Preferably a little quieter than the average campsite)
