Looking at buying a second hand cabanon

But the (packed) size bothers me. Do I really need a trailer to go with it? We have a Mondeo estate with roofbox already pretty much full. What's the striking time on it, and what kind of extra things do I ned to consider with the canvas?

We've got one (an Estoryl) and it is lovely in the south of France with the doors out as canopies plus the additional sun canopy. Spacious, great head height and plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 small children. It was a bargain on Ebay and I am very attached to it. On the downside, it takes a long time and a fair amount of strength to put up and take down as well as taking up significant space in the car (we've got a Grand Picasso with roofbox and struggle to to get it all in, although we do take a pop up as well). We are also very wary of using it if there is any possibility of rain as it's unwieldy and heavy enough when dry. Wet it would be a nightmare, especially if you don't have a garage you could dry it in. I would say it's a great tent to pitch for a two week stay somewhere hot but not something you want to be getting out for a quick weekend away in the UK. We got a Quechua as a second tent for quick pitching and now we've got the living area for that, I suspect we might leave the Cabanon at home for good.

We've got a cabanon biscaya 370. Not canvas, but the cabanon all season polyester. Unbelievably heavy, but still relatively easy to pitch. We have c-max and roof box, and had to be very careful about what else we took. I was still worried we were overloading the car, so we are looking for a trailer. Awesome quality. I would recommend anything by cabanon, but doubt I'll have to buy another tent for the next 20 years (although I still crave a bell tent!)
