The nights are getting lighter, so surely it's about time to start seeing what stuff is new and essential this year! Have the bunting and fairy and fairy lights ;o) so what do I need this year?!

This kettle just came to my work - it's ace! We spent a happy while unpacking the whole range and playing with it. Yes, we are gear freak saddos, but we work in an outdoor shop, it's our raison d'etre grin

That kettle is amazing. Can you also try it out and let us know?

Bramblesinafield Tue 05-Mar-13 22:14:22

Oh I am loving those collaps things vehr naice.

Mmm picturing snacks by the campfire, with olives protected from the flies by the lids.

Is there a hobnob space?,or one for some Brie?

Abzs I'm very envy of you working in an outdoor shop. Mind you, I'd be permanently skint if I did.

I bought the Outwell collapsible bowls last year and they are great. When DH used them to collect the takeaway frites and salad from the campsite cafe he said he had many admiring glances, and I'm pretty sure they were looking at the bowls, not DH.

Have you tried the kettle out? I am quite tempted but it is expensive so would have to be good.

I adore that snack table Cavey. If we had one though it would be filled with jellybabies and Doritos. Or it could be very handy for paints when I put DS's easel up in the garden...

Sadly, we are not allowed to actually fire up a stove and boil a kettle sad

Quenelle Wed 06-Mar-13 11:52:50

sad That is probably infringing on your workers' rights Abzs. How can anyone be expected to work in an outdoor shop and not play with try out the gadgets all day?

Ha ha at that snack stand I will be looking out for thos on campsites as a surefire MNer signifier!

Things I have not got, don't really need, but hanker after:
Cobb oven. Are they now SO 2011?
Tripod and Dutch oven cookpot
Pie iron

Quenelle Wed 06-Mar-13 12:55:15

I think I would like a Cobb. I described one to DH the other day and his response was surprisingly positive. He doesn't know how much they cost though.

Oooh this thread is really ramping up a gear now! Love the collapsible kettle and pots but although they seem fine far a gas stove I'm not so sure they would survive Mr Hillbilly's campfires!

I have everything I need already unfortunately but always open to new stuff.

troutsprout Wed 06-Mar-13 14:47:59

Oooo that stove is pure porn . Blardy gorgeous

Pmsl at the snack stand Cavey. God it's almost worth getting to sneak in the car just to see dh's face when I set it up! grin

I have a collapsible kettle already.. It is a thing of beauty

troutsprout Wed 06-Mar-13 14:49:05

Snack stand... Could be like our secret handshake?

rubytutu Wed 06-Mar-13 19:12:10

oh I really want that snack stand now. think the dcs may love it too. would it be wrong to convince them to spend their pocket money ........

rubytutu Wed 06-Mar-13 19:16:59

just tried to buy one its sold out. to bloody mumsnetters no doubt grin grin grin

troutsprout Wed 06-Mar-13 19:34:12

What do we think of these ?

troutsprout Wed 06-Mar-13 19:41:41

Love the pic too. Knickers that give you leaping ability !

HerRoyalNotness Wed 06-Mar-13 19:53:27

That biolite stove looks amazing!! <adds to OFRS list>

Bramblesinafield Wed 06-Mar-13 22:18:46

I'm a bit worried about those pants. Is it for women with stress incontinence?
The plastic bite would be scratchy too!

I want a snack stand.

MrsMc82 Thu 07-Mar-13 08:15:01

I love camping gadgets..... but can't imagine a time when those knickers could be needed. .... can honestly say don't know of any instance when ive found changing my pants too onerous!!!!!

VictorTango Thu 07-Mar-13 09:39:05

I want a biolite stove!

rubytutu Thu 07-Mar-13 11:03:00

oh I want the stove too it's just that the snack stand is more achievable. if (when) I buy the snack stand I will have to smuggle it on board! we also took an electric kettle last year was v useful for tea
,hot water bottles and water for pasta,
rice etc

Quenelle Thu 07-Mar-13 11:24:31

Those Pop&Go knickers look like the solution to a problem that nobody has ever had.

troutsprout Thu 07-Mar-13 13:42:24

Those knickers were in a top 10 of new camping gadgets for 2013. hmm

If I was ever in a situation where I would be incluned to change my knickers without removing my trousers, I think my fist instinct would be to go home!
No showers?... Go home
Too cold ?.... Go home
Tent has mysteriously disappeared overnight and you have no belongings?...Go home

I think they are not for middle aged boring people like me. They are for young things trekking their way across somewhere or other .Or perhaps festival goers who are taking nothing with them.
Actually I'm still not sure who they are for

troutsprout Thu 07-Mar-13 13:43:42

Oh fgs!
* inclined*
* first * instinct

Quenelle Thu 07-Mar-13 13:49:06

How's that marketing role at Pop&Go going troutsprout? wink
