Has anyone been to either of these campsites? Want to head down to the dordogne next year and considering these. Particularly would like to know whether they are noisy at night - the kids are still quite young. Many thanks

We stayed at Les Peneyrals in June this year (half-term holiday) with Eurocamp. The campsite was quiet and has an excellent restaurant. The campsite was quite spread out and be warned that it is a stiffish pull up a hill to get to the reception area where the shop/restaurant/pools are. That would be the only downside of the campsite for me. Everything else was excellent. Dont know what it would be like in peaky peak season but in early summer it was great.

TBH our experience is that all inland campsites are normally fairly quiet. In peak season there may be a disco a couple of nights a week but these are normally silenced at midnight at the latest.

I hope you have a lovely holiday!

Oh thank you for this. Having trouble finding opinions on the noise issue!

Welshchick what is your concern about noise? On the whole campsites are quiet. It's only the ones down on the med which can be a bit livelier. Sometimes the med campsites are close to night clubs or have their own night clubs. Inland campsites are almost always (IME) well away from the flesh pots!

We're also thinking of la Polombiere or St Avit Loisirs.

We stayed in the Loire last year in a small (205 pitches) site. It was v quiet, although the bar did have a band or karaoke 2 nights/week that finished at approx 11:30pm. I understand that this is normal even for inland sites. It didn't really bother us as we were with Keycamp and pretty much as far away from the bar as you could get.

Still can't decide.....
