Camping In The Netherlands

Has anyone been camping in The Netherlands? We have been to France for the last 4 years and want to try something different. We were just unsure about the weather in July/August and where anyone can recommend, thanks.

Last year we stayed at Geversduin which was lovely and very child friendly. There are fantastic off the road cycle paths everywhere and the whole family can cycle to the beach safely. We did a day trip to Amsterdam on the train, and also went to Haarlem and Edam. My sister stayed at one of the other sites (can't remember which, sorry) and also enjoyed it. Apparently the de Kennemer duins are a popular holiday place for people from Amsterdam. We were the only British people on the site, but all the Dutch were really friendly and of course spoke great English.

The weather wasn't great, very much like here really. It was the second half of August and quite wet and a bit autumnal. But that's the just the luck of the draw.

We had 5 days at Duinrell this year (see www.Duinrell.com). We found it from a mumsnet recommendation. Didn't camp as it was our first time travelling with the kids abroad. Fab place, only downside was the weather which was like UK and very rainy! Planning to go again next year.

I've got no idea about July/August weather, but I know currently it's a little, but not loads, better than here. We're going here this weekend, so I can leave feedback after the weekend if you're interested?

Thanks. These places look great, lots for kids to do. Definitely a consideration for next year!
