Come back from been out in the camper to find nextdoor have parked their car in my spot. I now can't line up with awning. We've both been here all week so they know i park here. They have plenty of space otherside of their tent where it normally is. I have managed to swqueeze van in but have totally blocked them in.

They're not on site and we planning to walk into town in a bit. Do i leave them blocked in? I could pull forward a bit but then van would br on a slope and not next to awning.

If it not an allocated space for your plot then I don't suppose you can do much. I wouldn't block someone in though, it might seem a bit petty. Is there anywhere else you can park?

Could you not go to their tent / van and ask if they wouldn't mind moving? If they are out I'd personally park elsewhere and leave a note on their tent / van asking them to please move their car so that you can park your van lined up to your awning. And if you come back from your walk and they haven't done so I would block them in

Stay where you are and block them in, silly people.

They will hopefully soon realise their mistake and move their car.

A simialr thing happened to me last week, but the people parked their car irght outside our tent, and I mean right outside! The campsite wasn't even packed or anything.

No, don't leave them blocked in. There'll be a good reason for them having to park in your spot, they wouldn't have done it just to spite you.

I can't think of any reason other than to spite me, though they've seemed friendly enough. It is a cramped site and im close to their tent. I was told to park within a foot of their guys but have left three.

Maybe there was somone on the other side of their tent earlier and that is why they have parked where they have. Leave a polite note and if they don't respond when you get back block them in

But its a standard car, tent, car, tent arrangement. They've got a trailer the other side of the tent but still space for their car. They've basicly parked in the middle of my pitch. Im going to leave van here till we go into town. If they're not back by then ill move the van forward. But that puts me in the position of having to ask them to move their car rather than them having to ask me. I don't like asking people stuff.

Well I've had a closer look, he'd be able to squeeze out if he unpegged his guyropes so van is staying put. Im not leaving the keys with anyone, nice farmer would prob say yes and even dh not allowed to drive my van.

I would want to leave them blocked in as I'd be mightily miffed but in reality I'm totally rubbish at confrontation. How bizarre of them to park on your pitch...just weird.

I'd be worried about leaving my van close to them in case they weren't too careful when getting out of the space. Hope they come back and move the darn thing soon.

well we are going out just after five so hopefully they'll be back by then.

And I've got a big steel bumper snd towbar at the back which will save my bodywork. People on other side of campsite say that my neighbours haven't used car today. But once i went this morning he shot out of teent and moved the car. So he's either pissed off that im so close but that's not my fault. At a push he's concerned about the wind and using the car as a windbreak to protect tent. It was windier yesterday but guess he was maybe worried it might get bad again.

That would really pee me off!!

I would carry on with your plans and leave them to get on with it!

We were on a busy campsite last week and if people hadn't used common sense about where to park we would have been unable to get out. That was a c@cc site aswell. Normally their pitches are quite spread out but we got to know more than we wanted to about our neighbours last weekGrin

How did you get on Viva? Sounds really irritating, especially as they knew that was your pitch-I'd be more forgiving if they were new on site and hadn't seen you set up!

Was just popping back to see how you'd got on.

god, I can't believe the cheek of some people! did they come back last night and apologise?

Report
YellowDinosaur · 12/08/2011 12:12

Yes come back and let usnosy gits know what happened!

Hopefully the reason you haven't come back is because you have far better things to do on a camping holiday that post here and not because a massive terrotorial pitch war started as a result of this and you are, in fact, recovering in hospital Grin

I'm sorry. The electrics packed up in my van and I've been unable to charge the phone up.

It all ended very unexcitedly anyway. We came back from going into town for tea and they still weren't back. They got back quite late and she asked me if their car was a problem where it was. I'd calmed down by then and also it was still pissing it down so not as if I'd been wanting to sit outside anyway. The car wasn't so much of a problem when I'm just huddled in the camper van. So I told her it wasn't a problem but was wondering why they'd done it.

It was to try and act as a windbreak for their tent as they were really worried about the wind getting up again. So I was fine with that.

God the weather was awful, really bad again last night. I did feel sorry for them, they'd got three small kids and she was saying that the tent was leaking.

Glad all was sorted although you could at least have started a rumble in the interests of thread entertainment Grin

Hope weather holds up and you enjoy the rest of your trip...
