says it all really - I had a 'you only live once moment' this afternoon and egged on by my dh I've ordered a Hypercamp Palamos 6 from Obelink in NL! (squeeeeell!)grin

isn't she gorgeous? and this is the site I used

I needed a smaller tent than Lakey for continental camping, with a decent porch for shade but bigger than a 4 berth.

Photos will follow when she arrives and we've tried to put her up in the park as I know she won't fit in our garden grin

That is lovely Lucycat. Can't wait to see your pics.

Learn to speak Dutch

That is a VERY Dutch tent! People will assume you are Dutch!

Oh I looked at that the first time you linked to it, have been sitting on my hands trying not to order the sodding thing.

Do not need another tent, do not need another tent......

Congratulations, 'tis fab, I am envy,

Lovecat Mon 04-Jul-11 07:44:19

Gorgeous! (but how many guys....?shock)

I love the idea of taking the tent to the park to pitch - fab! grin

bitingfairy Mon 04-Jul-11 09:25:05

I love it! Especially the moveable front wall. envy

Oh she IS a beaut. I love the windows in the porch.

The second time you put it up (the first doesn't count as there may be guy ropes needing to be tied on and instructions to be read) you will be stunned, STUNNED at how fast they go up.

You and dh will laugh and hug one another at how stupendously simple it is.
And then you will go inside and laugh and hug some more. It's laughter and physical closeness all the way in a pyramid.

Slubberdegullion Mon 04-Jul-11 12:43:42

blimey though have just done google translate on the Scout leaders feedback

"We of the Danish Scout - Cort Adeler group would like to tell our opinion about your Palamos 6 constipating and that in the summer of 2010."

oh NO.

You'll need to pack the senacot. A tent that constipates sad

Lucycat Mon 04-Jul-11 14:51:45

I have already warned dh about the guys so he is prepared. I have researched on ukcamping as to the recommended order in which to construct said beauty- lay out ZIG and peg at corners, zip canvas on top, put two front poles in, loosely guy then up goes the big pole. I then get to play house inside while dh pegs- he's going to love getting all those guys in line, bit retentive about things like that! grin

I may have some tents to sell if this is THE ONE! gringringrin

Lucycat Mon 04-Jul-11 14:54:13

Red wine should replace the need for senakot. - and they were Scouts wink

Batteryhuman Mon 04-Jul-11 18:24:23

Very nice and a very nice price too Lucycat.

I now have serious tent envy.

Slubberdegullion Mon 04-Jul-11 18:45:48

Hahahah this IS the tent for someone who is guy line-retentive. You can boss from inside if they aren't straight as the zig will be baggy.

Slubberdegullion Mon 04-Jul-11 18:47:21

Is there a dividing curtain at the back to make two bedrooms?

Lucycat Mon 04-Jul-11 18:51:04

Thanks Batteryhuman- all those Dutch tents last year at Les Valades have swayed me to their gorgeousness- I had coveted a De Waard- but at £2000 for the one I liked - nope smile
Slubber it has 2 separate bedrooms so our plan is to put the dd's in a bedroom and we'll just sleep in the main bit.

EggyAllenPoe Mon 04-Jul-11 18:51:22

ooh i do like it. those have a nice roomy feel, don't get the leakage problems that flatter-roofed tents get...

very very nice.
and a porchy bit/ extendy bit moveable for hot/wet weather!

i hope you are getting some nice accessories....

Lucycat Mon 04-Jul-11 19:02:32

I think we will have a look at what we've got already- seeing as we are 'downsizing'! I am planning to use our tarp purely as a shelter for eating/ cooking- maybe attach it the front of the tent over the poles?
I'm glad so many people like her- let's hope she's as fabulous in the flesh/ cotton grin

Slubberdegullion Mon 04-Jul-11 19:16:13

Ah two separate bedrooms, even better.

We attach our tarp to our two front porch poles using Klingons.

I want one too. I want a movable wall.

Lucycat Mon 04-Jul-11 19:22:33

Klingons? From Star Trek? Surely not? The only issue with the movable wall is that it makes the zig not quite complete - but a small price to pay

IwishIwasmoreorganised Mon 04-Jul-11 19:25:51

It's lovely.

Lucycat Tue 05-Jul-11 09:51:11

Ooh they look soooo useful. Just the thing for when eyelet doesn't meet pole in quite the right place. I'm liking those v much. Right.... off to work- children to educate. smile

needanewname Tue 05-Jul-11 13:50:48

ooh like the look of the clingons
