Smaller 'weekend' tent what would you recommend?

Hi all, last summer we bought the outwell Montana which is great but huge. Just the thought of having to pack it and put it up just for a night or two is putting me off going! Can anybody recommend a smaller tent, we wouldn't need too much internal space as we would only go away when the weather forecast is good :) would like one with a sewn in ground sheet though.
Thanks in advance

I can totally recommend our Quechua Base Seconds 4.2 from Decathlon but it doesn't have a SIG in the living area, only the two bedroom pods - the groundsheet in the living area is bathtub type that velcros on and we have never had any bother with bugs.

I can put the tent up myself in 5 minutes and down in the same time. We got it for just the same reason you mention i.e. our bigger tent is too much faff to pitch just for one or two nights away.

What about this vango appollo. We have had to the older version for 5+ years and it is great. Has a livingroom and bedroom (which can have a dividing wall) with decent head height throughout.

Bell tent - you can get 3m if you want small 4m or 5m, we have 5m goes up in 20 mins, spacious and many other advantages!

We've actually sold our Outwell Indiana ( or something) as even on a week's holiday it was so much faff. It literally took 4 hours to clear away and get sorted both up and down. So we've gone for the Quechua base seconds as above and have also got a seperate Quechua without the sleeping bods for us to use as a kitchen and seating area when cold.

We also have the Base Seconds to use as kitchen/porch/storage area. It just pops up and latches on to the 4.2 - so simple.

I love camping and would also reccomend a Quechua pop up.

I stole found one that was left over at a festival and it was brilliant, in fact out of all the money I have spent on tents it was the only one I refused to leave at a festival.

just bought a coleman weekender 6 for 65 pounds in argos. went up in 15 minutes and down in less than 10. has only one room. so a very simple arrangement. no living area but you can stand up easily in the tent which was important as I HATE feeling claustrophobic. great tent but not tried it in wet weather.

Curly It was after everyone had left the festival. Loads of people just dump there tents and it's a real shame.... So we just went round looting salvaging the really good ones.

And thanks. :o

I am another quechua pop up person, I have the 4.1 and a base seconds.

Takes 15 minutes to pitch and stike including guys and picnic rugs on the floor to keep your feet warm.

It is an airy tent with loads of ventilation so it can get a little chilly, the groundsheet velcros to the inside of the tent, the upside of this is of course no condensation.

And great customer service from decathlon stores.Grin

The coleman tent carpet fits perfectly in the 4.2 and makes it a bit cosier - got ours from Amazon for £25.

We have just done the same type of thing, bought a vango infinity 400. It's a blow up tent and it's fantastic and given us just what we wanted, goes up in 10 mins, bedrooms already in place, and it looks really good too. We had Vango amazon 600 and it was just too huge. I can highly recommend it, my wine was in my hand in the sunshine a whole lot faster this weekend!
