Shagging in a tent - is there a window for it? iyswim

Haven't been camping for a year or two as DC3 is a bit of a pest but thinking about it again. Up til then DH & I rather enjoyed the naughtiness of grabbing a shag without waking the kids.
Now thinking about getting a new tent and wondering how many bedrooms to get. Am wondering if once your eldest hits a certain age, is shagging pretty much out of the question on a family camping holiday? In which case should I not worry about how many separate rooms the tent has?

No. Your camping neighbours can hear you even if you think they cant.

Grin Basically I'm trying to convince dh that we should buy a bell tent, have managed to convince him that the time of tent-shagging is long gone. However, this might backfire and put him off camping all together though. I remember having to reshape my concept of a holiday when we had our first baby ("it's just more work!Shock"), guess this is another watershed (holiday=no sex???!Shock) BooSad.

Well we have a BT and its not stopped us!!!

You just need to be very quiet and not mind if the odd noise slips out and you are heard!

BTW I find the BT to be a more romantic feeling tent if you see what I mean!

But dont your older DCs want privacy from you? My DDs will sleep in the same room but give each other privacy to change. I guess it depends on how old they are, mine are 15, 12 & 11 so their privacy matters.

If your DCs are old enough why not send them on a regular chore and tell the older ones their job is to keep the younger ones focussed on the task. This fosters independance and gives you some private time!

Genius. Was thinking there must be some way to rig up a curtain or something for changing etc on sunny days when the sides are up and everyone's looking in. Ooh, a changing room! Now that would beat my friend's chandelier in her bell tent!

I agree you need to do it during the day because sounds travel a lot further than you think at night. Remember the Iron Age village documentary in the 70s where the families lived in a big roundhouse and when asked about (ahem) privacy they giggled and replied that because it was dark they had plenty of visual privacy but no aural privacy.

send 'em off to the play area with a six-pack of crisps and some lollies.

and radio on to hide any noise, which you can't do at night.

We always have more sex, not less, when camping. But we don't have a bell tent and the DC sleep down the other end.

Just do it quietly Smile

Nothing like hearing people shagging in tents. Im always tempted to shout comments just to let hem know that, yes, we can all hear you ;)

For us it is less of a time window than a temperature window, or at least getting the two to coincide.

So children awake but tent is warm - no sex
Children asleep but tent is bloody freezing, I'm not even putting my arms outside of my sleeping bag so you can forget me disrobing my nethers - no sex.

I read somewhere that one of the physical effects of sexual arousal is that you go a bit deaf. So people really don't realise how much noise they are making.

Slubberdegullion - we sleep under a single cotton sleeping bag unzipped so it's pretty much a duvet!

It's an unusual event, often due to cold. Kids are in another bed area.
Condoms are a must to minimise mess.

Any activity that introduces even a cubic centimetre of freezing cold Welsh night air into my warm zone (not a euphemism) is not conducive to marital congress.

I think about having sex with dh and that will have to do

Can I ask something here that I've always wondered.

Hypotheticaly if you got carried away and had sex in a tent at night with the lamp still on. And if you had sex in a ..........non missionary position, would other campers see your silhouette?
