Past two days ive started with the best intentions- planned the days food/calories and ate well for breakfast and lunch whilst at work. My willpower seems to disappear once through the front door when i get in with the kids....help! I just hit the f**k it button and think sod it ill try again tomorrow. Any strategies to stop this please?

I am always better earlier in the day, so I have a less calorific breakfast and lunch then save 100-200 extra cals for something later on when I would usually snack- I then weigh out treats to equal this value eg 10g of popcorn and an options hot chocolate, so I don't feel like I'm depriving myself.

I'm having the same problem. It gets to evenings and I think sod it and inhale biscuits 🙈 I need to figure out how to curb my sugar cravings

My willpower is fine when I'm busy, or when someone else is present.. but the second DSS goes to bed, if my partner is on the computer, I binge terribly.

I've been gradually gaining weigh for a long time, and the past month or so I decided enough was enough, and I wanted to stop. I haven't lost, but I have stayed the same weight, which to be fair is actually quite good IMO.

It is so hard, but I try to keep myself busy with films, but also something to keep your hands busy like an adult colouring book or a jigsaw puzzle (I do both). Also, stop buying the stuff. I've been guilty of this, but because I know I'll eat it if it's here, I just don't bother buying the stuff.

Yeah i have been thinking just dont buy it and tbf when its not there i dont bother, im not bothered. I think as well its the habit for me, picking the kids up- getting through the door and they are straight away asking for snacks. Im going to have to not buy it in and offer something more healthy! Simples Hmm ive worked out with bingeing im eating around 500 extra calories a day! Blush This needs to stop

I always do this and end up on 2.600 cals! The only thing that works is not having it in the house. I never have multi packs. Healthy alternatives eg rice cracker with hummus, options hot choc and cracker with peanut butter

Kids stuff I get stuff that doesn’t appeal to me.

Or i was thinking put it in husbands boot of his car lol as hes not home until later so i can get enough out for pack ups and a treat for them both but not me...maybe that could work Wink

Reduce sugar and carbs. Eat more protein. I don't think willpower works. I think you need to think about it as just getting your body's chemistry right. If you eat sugar, you'll end up craving sugar. It's just biology. If you can get through the cold turkey stage, you'll probably be fine. Protein keeps you fuller for longer. When you get hungry, eat protein not a biscuit or fruit.

Don't Starve yourself during the day, then you won't be so hungry at teatime ....

Porridge and fruit eg banana is a filling but low calorie breakfast.

Soup and a wholemeal roll is a filling lunch- I make myself chunky veg soup and add in things like beans or potato or lentils. Or chicken.
Or have a sandwich.

That should keep you going. Then dont have biscuits or sugary stuff in the house, and ask your DH to keep his elsewhere if he likes it.
