Calorie-counting

We’re thinking about merging this section, what do you think?

Hi all,
We’re doing some work on making the Talk boards more useful and user-friendly for both regular and new users. After looking at some stats for the site, we think we could boost activity on the whole by merging some of the lesser used sections.

We’re proposing to fold the topics in this section into the Weight loss chat area.

This should increase the number of topics in the section - and hopefully lead to more posts and responses to members.

Well, I doubt you'd get more traffic by doing this - the types of diet are separate so you don't have to wade through loads of irrelevant threads (from people using a different style of diet to the one you have chosen) to find one younwant. Or indeed have oodles of useless replies about 'why don't you try it this way, it's so much better'.

It would reduce the usefulness considerably, and that tends to go hand-in-hand with lower activity.

Agree with pp. Wading through lots of pages with irrelevancies to me would make me less likely to visit. So reducing traffic. I lurk so don't show up on postings.

I just came across this topic for the first time as I am specifically looking for advice on calorie counting (and recommendations for meals). Weight loss chat did t appeal as it seems to be about all sorts, where as this heading is the type of "diet" I want to follow (I seem SW and WW each have their own sub-topics).

I'd agree with merging it.

Please dont merge. This is very useful to have as a separate section

Please don't merge. Diets are so different, so many posts will not be applicable to people and you'll get people just scrolling past. I love having different sections.
