Back onto MFP after leaving 4 years ago at 8st 4lbs re starting today at 10st 13lbs😩😥 Now I'm over 40 do you think it will be harder than last time? Main things to cut back on are far too much wine and eating the kids snacks ! I have booked a holiday for mid August and if I haven't lost a stone by then I'm going to hide under a blanket for the whole time 🙈 Not sure i'll manage exercise to start with and i'll probably under eat all week to splurge Calories on wine once a week ! Any once fancy joining me as rant about not meeting my targets!!

Yep! I'll join you.
Starting today. I lost 3 stone between calorie counting and then slimming world and after a bereavement I'm nearly back where I started.
Exercise is okay, it's just my diet Blush

Hi im down to 10.4lb but seem to be stuck here Confused I did have a few Gins the other night so maybe its that ! Staying under 1200 everday. How are you both doing ? My difficult is the food that kids leave lying about that i pick up (jelly sweets and bits of chocolate). And I've bought some herbal tea to have instead of snacking ShockBrew

That's good @insideoutandback you have lost 9lb in less than 3 weeks!

I lost a measly 1lb this week and I'm disappointed. So that's 5lb in 2 weeks. I'm keeping at or below 1200 calories however weekends are trickier. I've reduced my alcohol intake considerably. I've only struggled on one day since I began so haven't found it too hard.

At least I'm in the 12 st bracket now Grin. Target is 10 stone (I'm fairly tall at 5'9") so a long way to go. Sad

@dottielittle I think it comes off in chunks (thats what im sticking to at the moment) so nothing for a week then 3/4lbs - I bloody hope so! Its so disheartening when your not losing but if your only eating 1200cals its got to come off in the end. I could do some exercise to help but I cant seem to get my head round it at the moment. Your well on your way, stick in its got to come off in the end.

I'll join please!
I've lost a stone in 18 months by calorie counting, it's taking some bloody shifting! I want to loose another half a stone before I'm happy, it's coming off so slowly though.
I've been using a calorie counting app, which I find helpful!
Good luck all!

Hi @nicecupofcoco its hard going isn't it. You've done amazing so far. I'm just sat completing eating the sweets in the cupboard, but Im going to clean the kitchen cupboards out instead. Exciting bank holiday for me !

Yes, was hoping for 2 or more pounds but I'm aware that's probably rather unrealistic.

I've been so good but to be fair I've never had a problem with food. It's too much wine but I've cut it right down.

Thank you @insideoutandback still another chunk to lose, but we will get there.... Positive thoughts!
I completely agree about kids and snacks, I'm terrible at picking, plus I have such a sweet tooth, I always think a couple of these sweets won't harm.... Or a few biscuits from the tin! But it all adds up doesn't it.
Ive pigged out today, I've just been in a stupidly picky mood, back to it tomorroe for sure!
What meals are you all going for to keep under your calorie allowance?
I tend to just couple of weetabix for breakfast or porridge.... A sandwich for lunch.... And dinner tends to be our main meal so I just go for a smaller portion.

I had skinny meatballs and spaghetti in homemade tomato sauce. Weighed it all out to work out calories. Was about 600 calories (over estimated). Will be well within my daily calorie goal.

I'm also allowing myself a couple of boiled 0% sugar sweets from Aldi come an evening to give me a bit of sweetness. There's approx 16 calories per 2 sweets.

For breakfast I have fruit and fibre or all bran and skimmed milk, for lunch a black pepper Ryvita with lightest soft cheese and a little bit of something like Tuna, salmon or tomato for lunch and then a normal dinner but much smaller portion. I normally go for a casserole or something then everyone can it, they are fairy low Cal and I can just a smaller portion. This normally leaves some spare calories if i'm desperate for something sweet or wotsits or quavers ! Porridge seems to make me hungrier later on. Oh and lots and lots of water

Hi @insideoutandback, I've been going 4 weeks now. I've lost 11lb to date. 4lb week 1, 1lb week 2, 3lb week 3 and 3lb week 4.

I'm a sports coach by trade so it's not lack of exercise in my case. Purely consuming too many calories via Prosecco! I've halved my consumption and I've got MFP set to 1200 calories. Some days I'm only taking in around 1000 but this is counteracted against a weekly takeaway.

I'm not finding things too hard but I did have to say no to ice cream at an event yesterday 😭. As the scales show a positive difference I'm motivated.

How are you getting along? I was disappointed week 2 when I only dropped a single pound. As long as your not going up it's still positive, keep on track we've got this!

Hi @dottielittle your are doing amazingly well. Its good you have a job that keeps you moving as well.

I'm down to 9st12lbs which is better. Im sticking to achieving small targets and that is keeping me going. Waiting for 9st10lb even if it takes ages I WILL get there. To be fair I'm managing food all day no bother but i gets to about 6pm and I either want to drink or eat LOL.

I'm determind to get back into the clothes in my warbrobe no matter how long it takes. A couple of friends have noticed i've lost so makes a difference and makes me want to stick with it.

Can I join you? This is the first time I’ve tried calorie counting, in my first week and I’m finding it really daunting and time consuming!

Report
DottieLottie1 · 11/06/2019 22:20

Hi @foodiemama26! Are you using an app like MFP? Makes the tracking far less complicated but you will still need to measure some items.

How much have you to lose?

@insideoutandback, sounds like your on track, let's keep each other motivated. Some weeks are bound to be better than others however disappointing it can be when you don't see a loss on the scales. Just need the MFP graph to keep going downwards!

Hi @foodiemama26. My Fitness Pal is really helpful and once you've been it a while you soon get used to it. I like calorie counting best because you don't have to ban any foods just balance your calories. Also remember lots of water or I've swapped to herbal tea cause like hot drinks.

I’m logging everything into my fit bit tracker at the moment and I’m hopeful it’ll get easier! I’ve got about 2 stone to lose and would like the first stone off asap so I can fit into dome summer clothes!

Hi both i've just bought the fast 800 recipe book. Looks fantastic, im not doing the fasting but the meals are calorie counted and really low ! They also have a meal planner in the back for the first couple of weeks. Going to give it a go starting on Monday. Target 800 cals a day for 2 week . The blurb in the book says if you do 800 for a few weeks ot really kick starts and you loose quickly. (I know 800 kcal your going loose weight, its more for inspiration)

Sounds interesting @insideoutandback, post an example recipe with how it tasted and how full you felt once you get round to it.

I've stuck to plan again this week, was out for dinner last night but chose wisely! Not sure if I have lost anything this week as don't feel slimmer like I did other weeks.

The scales will tell me tomorrow 😬

Just weighed in with a 2lb loss this week. I was slightly surprised as although I have stuck to plan (therefore brain tells me I must have lost) my body didn't feel like it! At the same to time I've hit a total ⬇️ of 13lb but irrationally disappointed it's not the Stone!

How are you all getting on?

Thats really good going @dottielittle i'm not getting on scales until Saturday as I was getting to disappointed. Lots of people now noticing my weight loss which is great but makes me think I must have looked very big! So far fast800 is going ok, although to be fair its very simillar to what I would eat anyway. Not eating until midday really works for me as I often don't want breakfast first thing in the morning.

You will lose @insideoutandback, unfortunately not as quick as you'd like. So easy/quick to put weight on but so slow to shift!

I've had a protein shake for breakfast- might swap this for weetabix, but hard as I've never eaten breakfast in adulthood (bar holidays Hmm). Lunch will be done berries and dinner will be pasta based.

Day off work today so will take the dog out for a 3/4 mile walk- lucky as I've got woodland, farmland and urban areas all at my doorstep making some beautiful walks. Grin

Keep focused, keep positive this weight will go.
