First time ever calorie counting

Started 1st May to record all I eat on the Samsung health app. It has really helped me cut down on snacks. My weight has crept up since I had children because I've constantly grazed and eaten snack stuff I've bought for them. I've cut down quite a bit but am still having about 1900 calories a day. I've looked on calculators and it seems for my profile I should have 2000 to lose weight and 1600 to lose faster. Does this sound reasonable? I did the couch25k a couple of years ago then stopped when I got to the end of the programme so this weekend I want to start again on that. Does anyone have any experience of this? Any thoughts or tips? Or just generally any hand holding?

Does you Samsung count your steps and show how many calories you burn during the day? Or do you have a Fitbit?
You can work out from that how many calories you need to lose weight...on average eat 500 cals less than you burn a day.

I don't loose any unless my calories are 1000 or less. I don't go the gym though I walk the dogs and go for bike rides and generally fairly active most days. I was always a size 8 till I hit 30's really, could eat what I wanted and now in my 40's I'm more a 12/14 😳. But controlling the calories is helping. Good luck op x

I'm using Fat Secret app and goal is 1700 but averaging 1400. I lost a stone in 3 months earlier this year then went on holiday! Back on it now and I'm finding it relatively easy.

Good luck 😊
