Hi

I've been using mfp for 8 months now. Aim for 1200 cal but varies from 1000-1500 (for the most part, except very occasional treat days like once a month).

I've done well and lost almost 3 stone which I know is fantastic. I've also joined the gym and try to go 3 times a week plus an active job.

I need to lose prob another 3 stone Shock
Problem is, lately (past 2 months) my weight just static!

Don't know where I'm going wrong. I try to eat well, usually have :
Porridge/cereal for breakfast
Chicken wrap/salad or jacket sweet potato
Evening meal homemade foods like pasta, chicken and sp wedges, sausage and bean casserole etc

I have a protein shake if exercising to keep protein intake up.
I do like sweet things but I try to limit these to a small piece of chocolate a day if I've enough cal left

Any advice welcome

Are you eating unsaturated fats too. Eg olive oil, salmon, almonds. The good fats help break down the bad cholesterol and help weightloss.

Are you balancing your carb/fat/protein.

I'm trying soups for lunch at the moment. Really low calories and quite filing. Hope others come along to give you some ideas.

Are you drinking plenty water?

I'd recommend trying to introduce some different meals and exercises. Maybe your body has just gotten really efficient with the cals in and burning you are doing at the mo. Something new might just give it a wee shove in the right direction X

You could also try going back to basics. Weighing out all your portions to make sure you are actually only having 15g of Marg etc. It's easy to let things creep up.

Also you could start measuring yourself. Sometimes the scales don't move but you may be losing inches.

Some fruit and veg are better for speeding up fat loss too - have a google of slimming world speed foods. That might help :)

Once you have been on a certain regime for so long - your body usually gets used to the same foods and exercise. This usually slows down your metabolism and makes it much more difficult to shed the last few stone. I suggest mixing up your diet and switching to new foods and a new exercise regime such as using a different machine or technique and eating different foods. Maybe even exercising for ten minutes or so longer.

If you've lost 3 stone and you're still eating the same amount of calories you were at the start, the weight loss will stop.

Now that you're a lot lighter (3 stone is a massive amount, well done!) your body will not be using the same amount of calories to function. You need to work out your tdee and then work out how many calories you need from that.

If you eat, for example , cereal for breakfast then a wrap for lunch and pasta for tea, that's carbs every single meal and I suspect this may be your problem
