How do you find it? My husband asked me if I'd like one as he thinking of getting one. Has the pedometer aspect (10,000 steps etc) helped you lose weight by walking more?

I have a fitbit alta and I love it! It really motivates me and there are lots of different goals to meet - steps, distance, calories and active minutes. Would definitely recommend getting one. I have it in the turquoise colour and it looks cool.

Yep and it's killing me currently Grin

I've lost 13lb since i got it in March simply by increasing my steps. No diet change. I only had a stone to lose so I'm happy.

I've had mine for over three years. I aim for 10000 steps. My husband has lost weight with his, me not so much. I think you need to do more than 10000 steps to lose weight, more like 15000 or 20000. I found it easier when I was doing school runs, my kids are teens now. I have to walk for an hour and a half to get to 10000 steps.

Hour and a half for me as well. If you do those 10,000 first thing if you have time then the rest of the day is a bonus and more likely to lose excess weight.

Not sure about losing weight (not been trying too hard tbh) but I love mine and am now addicted to trying to get 10k steps every day.
It's great for helping you get more active, I think it could certainly help with weight loss indirectly but you would need to watch what you eat and ideally make sure some of the exercise is serious too not just pottering about.

I have a One. It clips onto my bra. I absolutely love it. It's addictive! I hit between 10,000-15,000 steps every day. I also love seeing how many calories I've burnt that day. You can't go wrong to be honest.

I have a garmin forerunner, it step counts but you can also use it to track runs/pace etc and it's a watch. I don't always make 10,000 though Confused

Make sure you get a Fitbit HR - I accidentally bought the Fitbit without the Heart Rate monitor and that's what I was really looking forward to using. It is still really interesting and I love seeing how many steps I do etc. but I obviously didn't do my research well because I thought it could replace my RunTrax app by tracking my runs but turns out you still need to take your phone with you to track your activity effectively... Would recommend but make sure you get one with the HR feature.

Yes and I love it. I have the charge HR and it has genuinely motivated me to walk more.
