Calorie-counting

losing 5 lbs in a week isn't right is it?

I've started using mfp and love it. Feel in control of what I'm eating and after a year of putting on weight I can see this could work for me.
I know I should be really pleased at losing 5 lbs this week but I am hoping to lose 20 lbs in total to get to 9 st 6 so 5 lbs seems wrong. I expected 2 lb a week max. Is it okay?

You tend to lose a lot of fluid in the first week. I think I lost a similar amount early on using MFP. If you're not starving yourself, don't worry. I did find I consistently lost more per week than MFP predicted on calories, throughout. Good luck!

You usually loose more in the first week a lot of it is water. I did slimming world and some people lost half a stone in their first week

Great I feel less worried. I was thinking I should drink more so I will make an effort tomorrow.
