Although most kids I know don't seem to like cake - what is wrong with them! but they do go nuts for icing!

anyway, need something for the candles to go in, and to complicate matters it has to be rainbow colours

butter cream icing with a smidge of cake?
ice cream and coloured jellies??

any wise ideas??

Ice cream cake? We were away for dd's birthday and ordered her a cake at a hotel. It looked like a real cake but was made with ice cream.

You could make your own ice cream and freeze it in a cake tin to get the shape.

I loved ice cream cakes when I was a kid. Had them every birthday. Two blocks of vanilla, pushed together, covered in sweets. You could do the rainbow in sweets smile

Cooke cake, you can still pop icing on it. My kids much prefer biscuits.

I used this recipe

Does it need to be edible? You could buy a polystyrene fake tier and ice it (you only need water to get fondant to stick).

Does she like rocky road? Or rice crispie cake? You could add a load of M and Ms to make it rainbow coloured.
